icarus line blow. my friends & i 'hung out' with them after a show & they invited us into their pathetic ford van. they started passing the weed around & didn't even offer us any. who the hell invites 3 hotties (if i do say so myself) onto their 'tour bus' and not offer some weed? they were so friggin' lame. except for the one nice one w/ blond hair. the others were douchebags

Maybe if you would have put out they would have passed you the doob. What did you think they were expecting? Did you really think they they were inviting you to their van to get you high for nothing? HA!!!

sorry Nick, i love the Autolux record :)

reminds me of a sexed up Sonic Youth, w/ maybe some QotSA-ish riffage in there.

How lame is it that all buddyhead can do is hate hate hate. They are too obsessed with trying to be indie than actually just enjoying music. reading that worst of 2004 had its high points (gene simmon's asshole is the worst record ever.) but mostly was just cheap blows. after all that, just because of that link after the ashlee review they gain credibility.

i agree with all of these minus devendra banhart. autolux's future perfect is amazing and needs to get more credit!

that's a shitty list. in any case, the best song off team america is "i'm so ronery". haha.

and their 20 worst list is pretty redundant.

Finally, a year end list that doesn't praise the (overrated) Fiery Furnaces or have the Animal Collective's (collective) balls in their mouth, ala Pitchfork. I like buddyhead for the fact that they, most of the time, don't buy into the pretentious "look at me, I'm so indie" releases. The fact that Pitchfork ranked these records higher than Brian Wilson's Smile is a crime against humanity, because I guarantee that 10 years from now, no one will care about/ remember 90% of the bands Pitchfork praises. Autolux was good, not the best (Smile was), but a darn fine record.

buddyhead is co-run by the guitarist from the Icarus Line, so surely it'd be a bit pretentious to put your own band's album in the best of 2004?

trying to be indie? i dont think they try to be indie at all...what the fuck is indie anyway? something you geeks made up so you could finally have a label for yourself. go back to being fat and gothic. there list was pretty much right on...and that autolux record was bomb.
