Saosin Hate From First To Last, Panic!, Probably Dylan
Stereogum has never heard of ANY of these bands (except Panic!). But we like a good fight scene (scene fight?). Laura, can you fill us in?

I was going to ask you – what bands can you not fucking stand?Nice balls on that interviewer! What bands do you hate? ... Yeah, that band totally said you suck. ... Who else do you hate? ... That's it? You sure?
All: From First to Last.
Alex: We fucking hate that band, and you can print that. They’re on our label. I think they’re so clichéd.
Cove: For the record, I think Sonny is a nice guy. You can say Cove thinks Sonny is a nice guy.
Justin: I am not saying they are shitty guys, I am saying their band sucks. There is a big difference.Didn’t you produce their first record?
Beau: I remixed their record. It came out and sounded like dogshit. So Brett at Epitaph asked me to remix it for them. The re-released it and didn’t even put my name in the credits. They kept the old mixer’s name in the credits. It was kind of a bum out. I thought there was a couple good songs by them on that record, and then I produced a song from them on the Smartpunk comp, but the new album by them just blows.
Cove: They had about four or five good songs.
Justin: You know how we were talking about the scene thing? That is the kind of band that is going to be here today, gone tomorrow.
Alex: And our A&R guy at Capitol is the guy that signed them. We gave him so much shit about that.
Beau: Especially because we were going to sign with Epitaph, we decided not to sign with them so they signed From First to Last. And then we signed with Capitol and it seems like they kind of followed. It has kind of bummed me out that I did that stuff for them, and that is what happened. Another reason I am not so sure about them is that they were saying that we sucked and that they hated us. And I was wondering what we ever did to them.That is pretty bad when From First to Last is saying that you guys suck. That is low.
Justin: And we are pretty much the most normal band out there. We don’t have a bunch of red eyeliner on. We’re not super-eccentric. We’re pretty normal dudes. I have tattoos and that is about as far as it goes. It is not like we are easy targets.It’s not like you go out of your way to piss bands off.
Justin: Exactly. That is what got us here. We would make friends with good bands and they would take us out. We got on some killer tours because bands have been cool to us.Any other bands?
Alex: I don’t like Aiden.
Justin: Aiden are nice dudes.
Beau: Yeah they really are awesome dudes.
Justin: But yeah Panic and the whole Fueled By Ramen type of shit.
Beau: It is kind of how Drive-Thru was for a while.
Justin: Everyone who is cool to us, we are pretty cool to them.

When will emo get the respect it deserves? I was at Pitchfork, Warped Tour, and Lollapalooza all within about a week in chicago and the warped tour was in a different class. The fans were rabid and the bands loved every second of it. The emo/screamo movement is something to be respected. If anyone is gonna change the atrocious state of this country its gonna be those kids singing every word of Underoath and Thursday. Trust me, all us BSS fans just want to play frisbee and lay in the sun.

FFTL really do suck, trust me. Look up the word "scene" in the dictionary" and you'll find them scowling back at you on the page. Can someone tell me WTF that term even means, anyway? Isn't every kind of music a "scene" e.g. the hip hop scene, the country scene, the indie scene etc.? That's kind of like classifying a type of music as "genre."

I mean, Circa Survive would've been good, if only Anthony Green didn't fuck it up with his drugged-down vocals, and that dude sucks on stage, no matter which project he plays with. The only thing I could recommend to that fucker is to stop with the Cocaine + Alcohol mixture overdose.
Did I forget to mention, Anthony does a load of Cocaine every night before he goes on live (no matter) with whatever band he's playing with at that time?

All of these bands suck so freaking hard. Please tell these so called musicians to write songs in a different key and to not be so fucking wordy in their songwriting. By wordy I do not mean that they use too many big words, far from it. It's that their songs are filled with too many words. Look at say a pop song, by the Shins, or Big Star, or the Beatles, or any band that writes at least passable melodies and lyrics. They have choruses and hooks and word spacing that is designed to get into your head and stay there. When I hear emo, all I hear and bands that complain about their relationships and suburban liestyle, in the most untuneful, long-winded way. Please realize that you will not affect the cultural landscape in any positive way and that you are doing the world a disservice by continuing in this way. Please cease and dissist. All of you. ASAP.

Ok, I like Emo/Screamo, Post-hardcore or "Gay music" if you call it that way but I don't wear tight girl jeans or eyeliner or nail polish or whatever, but lets be real, this emo music movement is not any different than the time when glam rock was popular, actually it's WORSE, look up any glam rock bands, they dress so much worse than emo kids today. As far as lyrically speaking, songwriters make songs that sound good to them that make them feel better or share personal things with listeners. THERE IS NO BETTER BAND, no matter the number of people that prove you wrong. BTW, I like saosin, fftl, and a little bit panic. If you wanna diss a band, diss Good Charlotte, they dress like emos and play fucking pop rock, that's just wrong.

Look at grunge, metal heads from the 80's thought that grunge defeated the whole purpose of "feel good, party metal", and then grunge revolutionized the American music scene. Emo has kind of done the same thing.
