The lyrics to London Bridge by Fergie include the following line from the chorus:

Now, I've tried to decipher these words, and it's been very difficult.
How does a bridge "go down"? It would have to be a bascule (draw) bridge, right? LIfts up to let boats through, then goes back down again.
However, London Bridge is NOT a bascule bridge. It doesn't go up, and it certainly doesn't go down. You are probably thinking of Tower Bridge.
