Who Fits The Bill?

Interesting to see how involved Fox News has been in the Police reunion rumor mill. Guess Rupert's a fan? Today they ran a piece mentioning Sting, Andy, and Stewart's upcoming rehearsals in Vancouver and declaring (without official confirmation) that the band will play The Grammys. Really, just more of the same, unsubstantiated chatter; but, Fox hits on something we hadn't yet considered:

The big questions now are: Who will open for The Police, and will it be one group or many divided among different regions? Names being bandied about are The Fray, Evanescence and even Virgin's The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. But don't be surprised if Fiction Plane, the hot group piloted by Sting's son Joe Sumner, gets a slot or two as well.
That list is a near perfect who's who of wasted opportunities! Time to play tour booker. De Do Do Do you have a band for Gordon?

UPDATE: The New York Times confirms it: "The Police Will Kick Off The Grammys"!

Is Zamfir available?
He and Sting could do a flute and lute version of
Message In The Bottle.

I think it's obvious.

The Format, The Changes, .... and probably Phoenix. I hate when oldies but goodies have zero clue about what audience they need to tap into.

The opener should be Panic at the Disco, but they're probably too big to open. All's I know is Stuart's baby daughter is a big fan.

I don't usually care much about opening acts to begin with, but even less so considering the headliners.

Can't we start speculating about the setlist?
