What the hell??? Why is everyone breaking up these days? Wolfmother won't be the same with just one dude! Myles Heskett made it awesome! But turns out Wikipedia knew...just like BYOP, the band's biography is written in past tense and says Andrew Stockdale (fro'd man) is the only member.

Self fulfilling prophecy. If there was meant to be more than one Wolfmother, then they would have been called the Wolfmothers.

This is what I get for not keeping tabs on Wolfmother's wikipedia entry ONE DAY out of the year.

Genius move, like when the guy from Days of the New did this very same thing.

Mike Patton's rant must have crawled under the skins of the other two. Didn't know he was that influential. Hey Patton, I have a few other people you should smack talk on YouTube. Start with Cornellbaland.

it's not egotistical for Stockdale to keep the Wolfmother name. They were a power trio, so he's still 33.3% of the band... and he's going to find other musicians to work with. Also, at the risk of sounding pretentious, the other two fellows were nothing outstanding (a backing band at best) anyway. He made the band everything worth remembering, and if he's still wants to continue in the same direction, why should he have to change the name of his creation?

The first time I saw wolfmother play was in a half-full nameless shod of a 250-person capacity punk rock closet in Atlanta. While Stockdale was fun to watch, Chris Ross blew my face off...and the one whose performance and musicianship I remember the most.

A year and an Apple commercial later, I saw them play to a capacity crowd at a theatre in Denver. Stockdale was so fucked up/exhausted/both he forgot words, couldn't find his pitch, had no energy, and his guitar was out of tune all night. But Ross (and Myles Heskett, too) were ON and brought the rock just as they had a year earlier. Stockdale squandered the opportunity to make that show live up to the claims that it was going to be Denver's "show of the year".

so, whatever. Let Stockdale and his 'fro keep the name and image. I'll look forward to the great record of music that Ross and Heskett are working on.

I shouldn't have said creation. But that's not the focus of what I meant. If you look at this from a commercial perspective, he IS what got that band noticed... whether he sucks live or not, without him, they wouldn't have gotten enough recognition to even get signed, let alone enough to make anybody care when they did brake it off. The truth is, people take great pleasure in discovering that the most successful artists are often jackasses. It makes us feel better about ourselves to know that people like Andrew Stockdale, Pete Townsend, and David lee Roth are all jerks in real life... but you still have to give them their due... Mozart was probably a jerk too. It doesn't mean that they weren't great musicians
