Word To Nelly: You're An Idiot

Nelly tells Vibe magazine he has no interest in the upcoming presidential election because the candidates are a little too whitebread: "You don't like nobody that ain't got a little dirt on 'em. How can you trust someone who ain't got a little bit? You ain't never jaywalked? You can't relate to somebody that ain't been in a little trouble. That's why people loved Clinton. You knew he had some dirt."

It's really a shame that he's probably not kidding. I mean, isn't half the fun of watching this campaign is all the Bush cocaine jokes? Not to mention all the dirty thoughts that surface whenever John Edwards comes on stage? Or maybe I can only speak for myself?

Anyway, poor Nelly. But maybe ignorance is bling.

This attitude really frustrates me -- the belief that Americans want someone they can relate to as president. Frankly, I want someone who's a lot smarter than me and who doesn't have dirt. I don't necessarily need a president I can split a beer with.

I mean, say what you want about Clinton but at least he was a Rhodes scholar, ya know?

robot mark...good rewriting of john stewart, almost word for word. anyways , nelly is wrong. he obviously hasnt relished the tales of bush's coke-snorting, alcohol guzzling college days.

Dude, if Nelly knew anything about Bush, he'd be doing everything to get to party with his twin daughters! And if I bet they (the whole family) could even teach him a thing or two!

I dunno, I have plenty of friends who have been nabbed for DUI and have spent significant time in their twenties blowing rails. I can relate to that shit pretty fuckin' well, actually.

I'd bet that John Kerry smoked quite a bit of weed back in the day... not only was he in Vietnam for a couple of months, but he also protested the war afterwards.

Say what you want about the drug/alcohol use of both Bush and Kerry... what's important is that it is in the past. Everyone makes mistakes when they are young, it's called learning. I find that a whole hell of a lot better than the blatent, stupid miscalculations (or abuses of power) that Clinton made in the White House.

Oh yeah... about Clinton being a Rhodes Scholar. I've heard rumors that he was studying at Oxford when a spot opened up, so they gave it to him. Not that he wasn't qualified or anything, I just heard that from one of my professors at Georgetown University. I just think it's a lot more difficult now to get it than it was in the 1960's.

Also, I heard he got a "C" in Econ (which made all my friends happy with their grades by default).

Poor Nelly!!! maybe He should ask the 2 candidates to make a guest appearance in his "tip drill" video. I don't see how having some dirt on you make you a more human person. That's the most pathetic comment I've ever read. I think it's more human to be able to keep your pants on and be faithful to the one you love. Maybe he should give up on music and go back to school cuz he seriously lacks common sense when it comes to politics. Ruling a country has nothing to do with getting down and dirty like a horny dog. Bill Clinton may have done nasty things in the oval office, but it certainly has not made him more popular. I mean, the man lied to his country, to his wife, to his daughter....he cheated so many times on Hillary that she should ask for an STD test once a month. Anyway, Nelly's stupid.

Good to know racism is alive and well in this, our "undivided" country....from jokes about Nelly's use of language (If you've ever used a colloquialism yr argument is automatically negated), to outright slurs. Good job, everybody. That's telling him. I'm sure he'll change his mind now. Not voting (and I am voting...just not for Tweedle Corporate and Tweedle Corporate-er) is a form of voting. It's called "no confidence", a clause which should be introduced on the ballot. But,of course, we here in 'merica can only think in (excuse the pun) black and white, ones and twos. At the end of the day Nelly's a musician, not a politician. The world probably will not come to a screeching halt if he decides not to vote. Racism, on the other hand, might just do the trick. (why can't those silly black folk think like us? Christ...)

Personally, I don't really care if Nelly knows anything about politics or not. I'm more worried about that zit on his face, he's had that band-aid on a long time now.

Nelly needs to learn proper English and THEN move onto discussing his views on politics.

Perhaps him and Dub-YUH can take a class together...
