Yellow Green Day

The hot rumor in animated pop-punk circles over the past few weeks is that Green Day will make a cartoon-cameo in The Simpsons Movie. NME did a little leg work and file this report:

A spokesperson for 20th Century Fox would not confirm anything, but according to the band's record label Warner Bros/Reprise, they [sic] band do make an appearance in the film.

The label also mentions that the band will have a song featured in the movie too.

Although the band are rumoured to be featured in the trailer for the film, it is unclear which version they feature in.

After watching this trailer, we're thinking we've got it sussed out. The resemblance is uncanny, eh?

Billie Joe, you've been Groening'd.

They say that in the movie, you're going to get to see Homer's wang. I really don't want to see Homer's wang. I don't care WHAT initials Matt Groening had hidden in it.

I guess I was naive to think they might make a movie without shitty, gratuitous, celebrity cameos in it.

Oh well.

I don't think it's Billie Joe in that picture. Not enough eye make-up.

i agree with nick. Too many Stereogum posters are so full of petty hate.

It's just a cartoon movie, don't get your knickers in a knot.

I would have really looked forward to this movie -- about 10 years ago.

I agree dsven. Especially when most of the stuff they claim as classic is third rate at best.
