You Have Permission To Call Thurston "Lurch"

Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore didn't mind that classmates nicknamed him Lurch. After all, "Lurch was the coolest guy on ‘The Addams Family,'" the 6-foot-1 rocker told Webster Hall's Baird Jones at the KS Gallery exhibit of Moore's collages. "Lurch was centered. He was the only person The Thing respected. Lurch was a role model for our times."Not gonna say we don't see it, ex-classmates of Thurston, but in terms of sheer Lurchitude, Moore's got nothing on Kerry's chin grin.

I'm 6'2" and I walked past Thurston at a WFMU Record Fair once. He was taller than me by at least a couple of inches, probably more.
