I wanna hear good music from old farts. Do they still have it in them?

A degree isn’t really needed when you put your heart and soul into a now successful business (band).

i want to see the drummer play. He’d be entertaining.

A master doing what he does best.

My God…..this is so good.
Seriously, it’s been YEARS since i’ve heard something so interesting. The video doesn’t show the bassist much, yet I think much of the focus should be on him. That bass tone is amazing, and all out-of-scale notes coming from both bass and guitar is fun.

Thanks for posting this.

I do like it when songs are packaged individually as such. I like the lightness of the song.

I could use this album in my life right now. It’s got that old, masculine sound. I think he can work on his voice a little more by turning more “cartoonish”, a requirement among us hipsters. Nice song, though.

Aww. this isn’t Subpop’s Pond? I got a little excited for a bit.

Not bad of a song. I like the instruments in the middle, but not the chorus. It’s a terrible idea to mix 1970s classic rock with 1980′s glam.

Scared the wife away from this room. Good album though. You’re right about the half-speed parts. Love it.

It just sounds like music. Nothing fancy, nothing new.

Kanye is just upset because he spent few grand on art he won’t be able to use. If you’re going to appeal to the masses, you got to play by their rules.

I agree. This is not good. I was expecting more from her.

The lead singer was 25 when Bandwagonesque was released in 1991. I remember seeing a poster for the release at the entrance of Universal Studios. I was a giddy teen, i gotta tell you.

Confession: I haven’t heard anything since Thirteen, yet TFC is one of my favorite bands.

Great echo-y harmonies over the instrumentation. A little too much at times, but still pleasing.

Nice find.

It’s such a great video and song. Much respect for this artist.

write 1 measure of noise, add reverb, repeat for 4 minutes.

Nice constructed samples. I want to hear more.

I’m convinced the band died in a van wreck a year ago, and was secretly replaced by socially-concerned musicians.

0Posted on Oct 17th, 2010 | re: Velvet Davenport - "Warmy Personal Routine" (1 comments)

You’re right about the Nothing Revolutionary. This music has already been written. I’d rather have the originals reunite for a concert, than see a bunch of partial-inspired kids place music from a generation they know little about.

If it’s retro, I wanna hear a modern-day twist.

Total pixies on that last song, except it’s a lazy version of Kim Deal. It’s interesting though.

Nice little feel. Forgettable though.

 0Posted on Oct 17th, 2010 | re: Jesu - "Annul" (Stereogum Premiere) (4 comments)

A nice simple riff, though repeated too many times i think. It’s has a very down to earth feel.
