FUCK pitchfork. Seriously, they’re crummy opinion means nothing. Glad I heard the album before they try to dismantle it.

Been listening on repeat for a couple hours, it’s amazing! He somehow managed to take this thing in a new direction again. A couple of the tracks are quite weird, but in a good way. Some folks have compared it to Loveless but it sounds nothing like it. The trademark vocals are (thankfully) there and Kevin still flaunts his watermark playing but that’s about it. This record is all over the place in a great way.

Seriously? Talk about lowering your standards. There’s some really lousy pics on that list.

Any news regarding MBV or Kevin Shields for that matter is a much needed, welcome breath of fresh air in this stale musical climate!

It’s painful to listen to, so bad! It’s insulting that “music” like this is taken seriously.

Slayer playing “Reign in Blood.” Now that’s something I’d like to see!

Does going on stage whilst playing two notes on a synth, plugging in a laptop or fiddling with a tambourine exclude individuals?

I don’t get all the fuss. After reading all this negative feedback everywhere I turn I was expecting this performance to be total dog shit, a train wreck. It’s not. Yeah, it’s boring and sounds like a zillion other things but most of the shit thrown in our faces these days is run of the mill anyway. That’s what kids like…. safe and average. She just sounds like some chick singing a mediocre song. Big deal. The majority of music in heavy rotation on this site is a lot worse. Next…

How do so many shitty acts always end up getting lumped onto these comps?

Sounds just like Thin Lizzy, best track on the record.

They sounded great and the song is better than most other garbage coming out these days. What is the problem?

+3Posted on Mar 18th, 2011 | re: The Strokes Angles Premature Evaluation (72 comments)

Screw Pitchfork in general. They’re so predictable, you can guess their album reviews based off album artwork and the band name. Try it. Pitchfork have their 40 or so shitty bands (can you even call some of them such?) which they endorse due to whatever political ties surround such a corporation and everyone else gets written off. What’s with pushing all that mediocre electronic garbage? And what’s with all the daily throw away remix fodder? Come on already, it’s insulting. It’s a shame so many kids go to them looking for new music. The pitchfork jokers really don’t have much of a clue. They favor style & fashion over essence. It’s also a shame that more than half the folks writing about music really don’t know much about it. Music journalism is in the gutter.

First of all, who gives a shit about that todd p douche-bag? Secondly, amen on Rollins part! All those crummy hipsters move to Brooklyn from these small towns and other countries and suddenly think their reborn quintessential New Yorker’s and authoritative figures on everything. I’m so sick of the whole ironic crap. Good for Rollins! Egotistical or not, it’s great he tore into them.

I don’t know, the majority of this stuff sounds so mediocre and uninspiring, I’m bored. Nothing new here and the bands most of these guys are trying to emulate or are sampling do it way better. I won’t be buying any new music anytime soon. If this is truly the creme of the crop then I’ll stick with the classics. And what the hell is up with “chill-wave?” Come on guys….

I absolutely detest everything about this project. The name, music…. it all sucks. Enough with these disposable hipster acts already. This whole so called genre just flat out sucks. What happened to actual bands that play and write their own songs? They are slowly disappearing. Music blogs have been championing some really bad gimmicks as of late and it’s amazing how many jokers jump on these trends and continue to put their own shitty product out there. Enough with the cheesy genres, neon colors and ridiculous band names. Let’s get back to basics! This hipster shit has hit the fan. Go away.

In regard to the second comment, Washed Out is also boring, easy to make bullshit. The guy slowed down some old crappy song and sang over it. Funny thing is, it’s his best tune! This whole so called genre just flat out sucks. What happened to actual bands that play and write their own songs? They are slowly disappearing. Music blogs have been championing some really bad gimmicks as of late and it’s amazing how many jokers jump on these trends and continue to put their own shitty product out there. Some deep shit here, nice Far East, psych leanings. That outro is fierce. A pleasant surprise, Go Apaches.
