Yeah this is tough because I live in Greensboro. We won’t get the National because they are already playing in May in Raleigh, Camera Obscura already has a date at the Cradle but they may be likely. I’m hoping for Pollard and Crooked Fingers. But it’s impossible to know which night to go and no way I can go all 5 nights. Then again if we DO see Neutral Milk play again, or even Mangum and i miss it…

You are absolutely right Jason. We should be directing our efforts toward altering the course of the mainstream in a more creative direction. To say that U2 was relevant in the first part of this decade may be an overstatement. They may have had some popularity, but as far as socially relevant music they fell off in the 90′s. And if you are making the case that popularity is relevance than you are on the wrong website.

Yeah that national crooked fingers cover is awesome. I think Ryan Adams is on here because he’s from NC. This has reminded me how awesome Merge is and how lucky I have been to have them in my town.
