oh wow…this may be the best one i’ve seen…not one, but two tri angle witch house acts, zola jesus, salem, white ring & locrian???
i really hope that this turns more people onto these bands…i love them very much
really nice work on this mix
it’s nice to see witch.house represented on this list
ratings change on a daily basis for most real music lovers, so alphabetical allows the creator of the list to do their job without re-publishing it everyday
actually a lot of them have several ep’s and an album to their name…sorry to burst your “fact bubble”
i applaud the effort of this list and i understand it’s about what stereogum started covering in 2010, but i feel like several of the acts have way too much material out before 2010 to be on this list…both Best Coast & Julian Lynch were on this site before 2010 and have a bunch of pre-’10 material out…the biggest one for me though is Zola Jesus…i’m ultra glad she’s on this list, but 80% of her releases came out before this year
overall nice list though
sorry to be nitpicky, just got an opinion
third*
love how dark castle and zoroaster just finished a tour together…those bands go together soo well
love the thrid one from the left of the top row…the others i’m not too impressed with…i feel like the designer just couldn’t make up his mind so they turned it into a gimmick
awesome! thanks for posting this…
i really like the slow building intro and the gravely chorale, and the wind-down electronic outro
i think i like this track more than any other on addicts…great move towards the drone/psych/dark post-rock elements that can add depth to the new breed of black metal groups
this track is killer, and this album is shaping up to be the best beat heavy album of 2010
normally they are fantastic live (i saw them with Architecture in Helsinki and New Buffalo back in ’05), but for some reason his voice doesn’t have the range in this clip it normally does on the studio works…i feel like he’s holding back or getting sick or something…just not the diversity he usually has…oh well the new album is good…speaking of new things, the new Sally Seltmanm (used to be New Buffalo) is gonna be excellent
first, i really enjoyed Belus and all history aside am glad to have Varg making music again…
secondly, i must say i find his honesty admirable…anyone who openly admits their prejudices and stands by their opinion deserves respect for staying true to themselves…i found his answer to the last question to be interesting and worthwhile information for fans and haters alike
thirdly, i like the fact that he feels that the music is just the music, nothing big and ultra meaningful and not full of social commentary, but just good tunes for rockin out
thanks for this
i’m underwhelmed…after all the comments about how mind blowing this was, i was expecting something original and unique…i felt it was pretty much a bunch of matured indie dudes paying pretty boring music…but then again i’m a jaded noise fan who needs things to sound like something new, not just early 2000′s rehashed adult contemporary

i really loved most of the albums that you have on here and the comments list a lot of great ones, but one album i feel is missing that i haven’t seen anyone mention yet is
Eluveitie – Everything Remains (As It Never Was)…that album is genius and i feel like either everyone forgot that it was a 2010 release (feb 19) or i’m missing some reason why it’s not amazing
