Aenima is for sure their best work — but I’d take Undertow / Opiate over anything post Aenima.
That deerhunter set was beyond epic — my buddy and I still talk about it. But I thought Tool’s set was great as well. They are such a consistent live act, even if you’re not into them I think you’d have to try hard to not have a good time.
I had the same thought. One of the few “turns 20″ recently that has been worth clicking.
I wonder if that was the point? Because it definitely got to the point where people were gaming the system trying to get the lowest rated comment. “Any attention is good attention”, I guess.
Similar to Pearl Jam at Wrigley Field — of the 20 or so people I knew that were trying to get tickets, I was the only one to get in, and only options were 2 seats together, in the upper upper deck. Anything on the field was $1k+.
No point in going to these shows when you’re competing against the unwashed suburban masses. Let them have it.

I’m half-considering going just to NOT see RHCP.
I was sorta bummed from the web rip the other day (vocals were muffled didn’t sound right), but the official release is just killer. Love this song. Love this band. Can’t wait for the album to drop.
RHCP? Again? What did I do to deserve this? They’ve become the new “explosions in the sky”, cannot be avoided.
What exactly did EMI accomplish by taking this down? “Guys, careful, we’re getting a lot of good publicity for this new album from that song clip, get that video taken down ASAP!”. Shades of 2000 / metallica / napster. I thought we as a society moved past this, like, years ago?
assuming this was just done for some elaborate encore when both bands take the stage. sort of does a disservice to the new album, which is great.
