I saw Area Code 256 and was expecting to see at the very least a mention of the greatest band in that area code, ‘Alabama Shakes’.
#Disappointed.
The production is quality. I’ll give you that. The delivery is definitely lacking though. Would have loved to hear someone like Gift of Gab over this track instead.
I’ll have to check that one out.
I don’t come here to fight with anyone. I was just simply writing my take on what I watched and heard and I just wasn’t feeling it. I do like a lot of the underground hip hop that is meshing with indie these days. I saw Ninja Sonik recently and they were a lot of fun. I just can’t get into this.
Louie Armstrong wasn’t rehashing the exact same boring subjects that his genre had been repeating into the ground for 20+ years.
I agree with you on every point. Downtown Records have had some pretty good stuff since their formation, but Chiddy Bang sucks.
I like Wiz and Lupe Fiasco. I think they are breaking new ground in up-and-coming mainstream hip hop. I am just not feeling this. The lyrics are bland at best and he has no flow at all.
Could these songs/videos be any more cliche’? Seriously.
I love hip hop but this is almost laughable……. weed, coke, gold chains, cop cars, bragging about expensive clothes and cars, getting high everyday……. seriously?
How about some hip hop with some substance? This is just boring.
We the peephole want this box set!!!

I don’t get diss tracks. It’s a musical equivalent of junior high drama.
