This reminded me of two things:
1. I need to listen to The Next Day more
2. Marion Cotillard is ridiculously attractive
Do we have to assemble his guitar and amps before he takes the stage?
I listened to MMJ since they first started up but they never really struck me until Z. For me, I can’t understand why someone would like the pre-Z albums more than post-Z. the artistry and eclecticism from that point forward is nearly unmatched in music as a whole, nonetheless in their catalog.
The vibe of the video matches the vibe of the the song perfect. And man, I love this song. I didn’t realize that it had been so long since they put out an album.
since we can all agree that Lua is a great song, how do we feel about the version with Gillian Welch? I think I may actually like that version better.
exactly.
i was worried that “with arms outstretched” wasn’t going to make the top 10 but man am i thrilled to see it get the respect. Its my absolute favorite song.
I don’t get why his album is getting so slagged. Sure, it isn’t as good as his last record, but its 10x better than most of the rap that’s been receiving the plaudits that this one deserves.
This is 10 times better than anything on his record.
Also Marco Benevento, Christian Scott and Black Prairie released great instrumental (or at least mostly instrumental) records this year.
so happy to see shovels and rope on the list. great overlooked album.
Channel Orange.
and i have not seen a single one of the viral videos and wasnt willing to look them all up before voting.
Rubber Soul. I’m not of the opinion of most people that the Beatles were infallible and this is the only album of theirs that I listen to straight thru without skipping anything.
just listened to the album earlier this week and it is quite good.
the best of alton ellis on vinyl!? i love her even more now!
a good friend of mine is a finalist in this contest. i can’t imagine the prospect of being involved in such a cool thing.
no mos def? no q-tip?
I’m going to transfer all my worthless points I accumulated on “Who’s Line Is It Anyway?” into thumbs ups for you.
I thought I was the only one who liked “Dear Catastrophe Waitress” that much. It’s my favorite of theirs.
Agree with not getting how this resembles BR, disagree about it not being terrible.
He’s been hanging out with Nugent too much.
Lovely.
That applies to both the video and to Leslie.
i’m far from a Kanye fan, but usually Kanye is setting trends rather than chasing them.
nothing will ever beat Coffee & TV for me.

my thought exactly. glad we agree on Kanye and farm raised beef.
