Gimme Fiction: classic title (and album cover)
Has anyone ever commented upon Spoon’s incredibly peerless amount of tambourine playing? I’m serious. Those guys throw in a tight, sharp tambourine at just the right times. Love it.
three songs out of a single LP ain’t bad.
You must understand the pressures of being both a Spin writer and knowing everything. Most mortals would crack.
I can understand that. Having the album streaming on the artist’s site would be a great idea, however I’m sure there’s big time deals going on between iTunes and Timberlake’s record company.
I’m no spokesperson for iTunes for sure, but it is free to use. iTunes doesn’t cost anything to have on your computer, so I don’t understand the VIP thing.

Enjoying it. Still don’t understand ‘Suit & Tie’ though. It’s just so anemic. And Jay-Z sounds bored as well.
Wasn’t a big fan until I caught CocoRosie live. They’re incredible. One of a kind. Very excited for their new album.
Justin Timberlake and The Strokes should’ve made a double A-Side of ‘Suit & Tie ‘ and ‘One Way Trigger’ and called it ‘Weak-Ass Shit’ or ’2013 has started off badly’.
Good for them. Django Django is very good but they always make me want to play Super Furry Animals albums instead of listening to them.
I’m a sucker for the funky and irony drenched ‘Odelay’, and ‘The Information’. I love the strings on Sea Change but I can’t listen to that album beginning to end if you payed me. It’s a little to ‘woe is me’ for my taste. That aside, Beck is pure genius.
James Franco is insufferable. He’s like the John Mayer of acting (and writing, teaching, musician, et al).
Too soon.
Schoolboy kills it again (Habits & Contradictions is easily my favorite album of the year)
Stop being sensitive peeps. She sucked live. I like her album, it’s not like I’m in some conspiracy against Grimes but that was a terrible performance.
Seriously, Sky Blue Sky always gets a bum rap and it’s incredible start to finish. A few of their other albums, although brilliant, I cherry-pick through a few of the tracks.
Company In My Back & Hummingbird are pure pop gems. One of those shoulda/ coulda made it.
This kind of behavior is acceptable in Florida, a place where books were just legalized.
I’d love the new Bloc party to resemble their debut but the two songs I’ve heard, well…not a chance in hell. Perhaps the ‘heavy riffage’ is on the other songs. Here’s to hoping.
I’d suggest Blur “Blur” and go either forward or backward from there.
Anyone who puts Trimm Trabb 1st is okay in my book.
I know the list is subjective but Beetlebum really should’ve been included: THAT’S how you open an album! Anyway, Chris Whine-garden was probably grabbing his crotch to Oasis in ’96 and didn’t have time to pay attention to the good stuff. He shames Spin or whomever he writes for. I mean, sonically, how could you listen to the self-titled album and 13 and NOT take Blur seriously?
yes, I will learn an instrument and play Beck’s new album in…2023.

Where can a well intentioned fellow hear a stream of this?
