i’ve only listened to it once so far, but it’s way more cohesive and impressive than angles (as everybody else is saying). definitely one of the most pleasant surprises of the year
of Montreal – Paralytic Stalks
it’s all about Rubber Soul for me. i dont know if anyone has ever done folk rock better than the Beatles’ pretty much only foray into the genre. cool stuff
edward sharpe and the magnetic zeroes
came here to say this. surprised it didn’t make the list
i saw this on television last nite… made me laugh so hard. also ruined my nite.
the only time i ever listen to green day is when stereogum posts about them… and every time, i’m like, “oh i remember why i dont listen to them anymore.”
):
holy shit, yes. i’ve been waiting for the studio version of this song since i saw her at fun fun fun fest in november
wow, that’s a pretty disappointing replacement for “I Don’t Want You to Die,” which I think was actually a perfect ending for that album. oh well.
graceland
Kishi Bashi- Bright Whites
That song is like summer in song form
you can’t really tell with all the reverb/ distortion and shit they’ve been putting on it for the past couple of releases, but yeah…. he sounds old
go zuckerberg go
go spurs go
incredible*
i mean, it’s not technically out for 5 more days, but since it’s already streaming on NPR, and it’s also an incredibly piece of work: What We Saw from the Cheap Seats by Regina Spektor!
amen! KB took of Montreal in an awesome new direction with Paralytic Stalks
it doesn’t read as if he’s pissed… maybe talking shit, but you don’t really have to be pissed to talk shit.
damn, Brian Wilson kept zoning out during that interview
Robots- Flight of the Conchords
Adria Petty has also directed other videos for Regina, and they’re all good
i like me some cathedral style reverb
meh. it wasn’t anything spectacular.
i just want to hear nicki spit like i know she can
Sugar Magnolia

Congratulations is the kind of album that won’t be properly appreciated until like 20 years from now and people are going to be like “oh shit these guys were awesome”
