I live in Montana so Sasquatch and Treefort are really the only times people in this area get to see big name bands. I’m ecstatic that I’ll get to see Matthew Dear, Solange, and the Postal Service without paying $200 for a plane ticket to California. Don’t take for granted how lucky you are to have bands like this tour through your area every year.
Watch the doc “Paris is burning” if you want to learn some more about ball culture (its on netflix). Its not surprising why ball culture translates so well into rap music because its just as flashy, confident, and in-your-face as its heteronormative counter parts. Queer rap FTW
