On the whole, Carney is right. Musically the public IS lazy and don’t do much to try and explore the options available to them aside from 90% the crap that major labels peddle as music.
In other words, it’s not Nickleback’s fault they sell millions of records, it’s the publics fault for liking shitty music.
Coldplay = Music for people who hate music but like to buy stuff.
Check out this interview I did with Jon Wurster, towards the end he discusses Bob Mould and how he got the gig playing with him. http://sockmonkeysound.com/podcasts/jon-wurster/
That’s really sad.
Our staff writer Andy Whorehall recently stirred up some shit on our site with this very same topic. Too bad you can no longer watch Conan NBC era videos.
Here’s a link to Andy’s article.

What a great band, I recently got a chance to do a podcast interview with Ryan Hahn from Local Natives and had a great casual conversation with him about the band. Feel free to check it out at http://sockmonkeysound.com/

Funny, he didn’t sound nervous on our podcast with Dan http://sockmonkeysound.com/podcasts/dan-deacon-interview/
