i just really wanted an excuse to say “for shame” i like the list!
for shame…. FOR SHAME
since these reissues hit i’ve really been getting back into the Pumpkins. whilst Zeitgeist never really gelled with me (i’ve always been a fan of the more spaced our prettier stuff) Teargarden was pretty fantastic. Oceania is now officially on my list for next year.
i really really liked Camp *runs away*
i think its a shame that SSPU got so much flak for sounding like the Pumpkins. When Carnavas dropped Corgan was flogging the dead horse that was Zeitgeist (i really wanted to believe they were back i really did)
fast forward to when swoon arrived and it almost felt like the band was trying to sound as un-smashing pumkins as possible- turning in an album that sounded both confused and utterly bland
this track however, its got my attention. if they can capture the magic of Kissing Families, Lazy Eye & Melatonin then count me in.
i love matt & kim but effortlessly harvey’s comment cracked me up
a really good collection, though my vote has to go with Cults. it may be old news but its sounds like summer distilled
man i love Nat Baldwin though am embarrassed to say i never knew he was a part of dirty projectors
this album really is gonna be good – Death Cab are the kings of summer melancholy. great for sunsets etc
loving the new direction

The Thermals – Everything Thermals
and i don’t know if it counts
James Mercer’s old band Flake Music had a track called “the Shins”
