You had me at “This Is A Low.” A really well thought out list that, while certainly subjective and perhaps intentionally ‘anti-single’, is a great primer for those new to Blur. And Chris Weingarten can suck it.
Glad to see The Horrors up there, but a little surprised M83 is nowhere to be found.

Don’t disagree with your points, however I find The National and Titus Andronicus just as overly earnest and self indulgent. Personally, I enjoy the sound, texture and musical references of Arcade Fire more.
Totally subjective — but then that’s the whole point.
BTW, loving newbandday
Agreed on Radio Dept. Loved Crocodiles too… had them at #19 on my humble list:

Future Islands are sorely underrated — including by me in retrospect. Gave much consideration to Everything Everything. Incredibly inventive.
I’m also kinda surprised how little people seem to be into Wolf Parade’s Expo 86.
Agree on Sleigh Bells. As for LCD, understandable critique… however, if you see them live it makes more sense. The repetitive grooves and slow builds are what make the big changes and releases that much more epic.
I’m in the don’t get Joanna Newsom camp too. At the risk of putting a target on my back, here’s my stupid year-end list:

I hear you, but I stick it out for “It Could Be You” and “Entertain Me”
