Lover I Don’t Have to Love and Bowl of Oranges were the two that first popped into my head (other than Something Vague). Neither of those are here though :(

I love this, second track maybe most of all. Quality is still a little demo-ish, even after downloading the higher bitrates.

a great music week. what about that new british songwriter kid? forget his name, but heard some of his stuff and it’s pretty nice.

I had to see it to believe it. That was a retarded, smug review that I think was trying to poke fun at how Tool fans can be passionate about Tool, but it was so poorly and vaguely written it wasn’t even clear what his actual issues with the album were.

great song but man that walk-off was pretty self indulgent

+2Posted on Mar 20th | re: Premature Evaluation: The Strokes Comedown Machine (144 comments)

One Way Trigger, 50/50, 80s Comeback Machine are some of the high points for me, not the negatives.

+1Posted on Mar 18th | re: The Strokes Comedown Machine Comment Party (174 comments)

I’m a little more than halfway, but I really like this. The only song I don’t like is the single funnily enough. It sounds like a half-hearted attempt to recreate the old Strokes sound.

honestly the first song was kind of boring, so i quit.

I seriously love this show. The voice acting and timing is just hilarious, the characters are lovable, and there is almost always a good lesson or story told in an episode.

No, those were my top two records this year, and I’ve never given R&B a second thought before 2012. Both classics.

Just listened to my first Taylor Swift song courtesy of Stereogum, “We Are Never Getting Back Together”.

The hook was kind of catchy, but…jesus. If you’re gonna give props to that kind of music you better be shelling it out for the droves of other artists I’ve heard that sound exactly like that too.

Oh, and wonderful interludes too. “Like…EVER”. Cringe.

It’s like two different lists forced to be fused together against their own will.

YES! Finally love for Miguel. He is my number two this year.

I actually like Tempest, great Dylan album apart from his horror film voice.

Stop sectioning your lists off as parts of a photo album!

Grimes? GRIMES??

 +8Posted on Nov 26th, 2012 | re: Paste's 50 Best Albums Of 2012 (171 comments)

Channel Orange is my number one by about a country mile. It’s been a while since the top album was such an easy choice for me.

Oh, and Frank Ocean all the way.

You guys really should have a “No Pick” decision for the Best Viral Video category. Otherwise, the default selection is going to win.

Okay, sorry should have read the entire article. I am no longer a Christian, fallible or infallible text, this doctrine, that one. I probably swing towards agnostic on most days, but then when I hear songs like “Oh My God”, it’s hard not to believe in some kind of spiritual presence in the world :)

+2Posted on Nov 16th, 2012 | re: Deconstructing: Sufjan Stevens And Christian Music (60 comments)

Nice to see a fellow ex-evangelical on here. I don’t think you can defend Christian music though. It’s just bad. With one exception…

JARS OF CLAY.

Those guys can write a song.

Listened to this several times now. It’s good, but I definitely don’t get the hype unfortunately. MBDTF, when I heard that I was seriously floored. This has some nice moments, but nothing I felt was truly innovative or mind-blowing.

Are there any good artists gone solo album covers?
