Find Me On:
hahahaha look at that fucking picture
Also…Harley, get out of here with all this High Violet nonsense, and listen to Alligator again. And maybe the first two albums, once or twice at least. You really phoned it in on this one. I know negativity usually translates to downvotes on this site, but I don’t care, this list is lazy.
Same with the Soft Effects EP. That shit is my jam.
“Top 10 most disappointing Stereogum top 10 lists”
You forgot Animals.
Lots of songs you’d expect to see, maybe a different order than I expected I guess. But I’m genuinely surprised “Aimless Arrow” isn’t on there. That song fucking rips, and it’s one of the most accessible songs Converge has made, and I’m pretty sure it got some love from the site when it was released. Also really thought “Default” by Atoms for Peace was under appreciated this year. Great track, can’t wait for that record.
Well, Tyler, I thought it was funny.
We Have the Facts and We’re Voting Yes
Still <3 u tho Stereogum. #goodvibes
No offense to Stereogum, but I think you did a poor job extracting from Nitsuh Abebe’s article. Grizzly Bear is one of my favourite bands, possibly my favourite band, and to get the impression that they aren’t appreciative or grateful for the success they’ve achieved was pretty disappointing to read. However, I didn’t get that impression at all when I actually read the original article. Nitsuh asked the band about their financial situation, and they were honest. They also made comments acknowledging that making music is not a dependable way to make a living, but they love making music and they love the music they make.
To all the grizz h8rz, just read the article first, please.
Best band. Hard to tell where the new stuff ranks in the scheme of things this early, but my only addition would be the electric version of Little Brother from the Friend EP. That’s my jam.
I find Easy Tiger and Cardinology to be pretty similar, yet they’re quite far apart on this list. I’d probably knock Easy Tiger down and put Gold higher, but definitely a good list. And Cold Roses probably beats Heartbreaker for me, but I know it’s hard not to put Heartbreaker first.
Really enjoying this Counting Down feature too. Keep em comin.
awesome. really awesome.
People referenced in this article: Lana Del Rey, Marilyn Manson, Axl Rose, John Mayer.
I hope I’m not just speaking for myself when I ask, “Who cares?”
For real, the internet is making work fucking impossible today.
I actually can’t really complain. It’s what I would expect this list to look like. It doesn’t add the occasional hip/different choice to spice things up. It just makes sense. I like it. Nice work everyone.
and yet i’m still disappointed.
I think Robin Pecknold would fucking own this show. Pipes and likeable/modest dude. Yim has the pipes too but might be a little too weird. There’s my 2 cents. Hilarious article.
WHAT”S THE BIZZNESS YEAHHHHH?!
