Agree completely. Thanks to “old” bands reuniting and touring, I’ve gotten the chance to see great acts that I had missed in ther heyday. Bands like Pixies, Pavement, Yo La Tengo, Jesus and Mary Chain, Dinosaur Jr, etc., and some coming up, like Afghan Whigs and New Order. That list includes Smashing Pumpkins, which I’ve seen a few times… ironically, their best concert ever was their “20 year reunion tour”, which is exactly the kind of let’s-use-nostalgia-for-money-making-purposes tour that BC is complaining about… So I don’t really understand his point. Touring is just about the only way for bands to make money, and I’m ok with that. In fact, I welcome it completely!! I love seeing those bands, most of which sound better than ever.
