Honestly it seems the only agreeable effort across the board is the Jessie Ware, Kendrick Lamar, and Frank Ocean present in the top 5 albums.

This record seems like it’s going to be comparable to when someone sees any nonrepresentational artwork, for example Frank Stella’s work, where Western Art had no where else to go to except abstraction and nonrepresentational; Centipede Hz is the inevitability of Animal Collective’s nostalgic ability to capture emotions. This record takes previous knowledge to fully grasp, but do not think that makes the work pretentious, without this it still stands as a beautiful piece of (for the lack of genre names) “electronic” music. It’s roots and inspirations are there, but it’s ability to transcend makes this album truly avant-garde.

You should take time and listen to Danse Manatee bro.

Some of the lyrics have changes since their 2011 tour, especially on “Mercury Man,” as if Avey got over his divorce… It’s still chill, just missing that raw emotion.

I wish this short list included Spiritulized’s, “Hey Jane,” but from this list I’m thinking Tanlines. Any thoughts on the fresh Poolside single?

The clams casino remix of LDR’s born to die is good enough for her to get a little thumbs up, plus we all know that SNL fail was a way to lose all of her MNSTRM fans/////

My favorite Beach Boy’s album. Tough one. I think I’m going to go with the underdog, and one that people regularity look-over, Pet Sounds. -_-’

I’m really surprised ‘Bon Iver’ is number one, and The Anlers aren’t anywhere…

Fleet Foxes, the “James Blake of folk.” Fuck yeah. Don’t apologize for that.

There is no Indie/MNSTRM ‘line’ good music is good music. Yes, some music that is under an Indie AKA INDEPENDENT label that is very good does not always get popular, but for the most part GOOD music goes MNSTRM and if you h8 it because of that then UR a FUCKING LSR. Stop ragging on good Indie bands because they go MNSTRM. EVERY1 should hear Vampy Weekend. They’re very good. Contra is a spectacular album. I hope the best for them.
