Yeah, totally confusing. The progress in this case is at 100%?
Something kinda messed up about shooting a video in London for a song about Berlin…
Stereogum. I love you for this post. So much. I too hope this new season doesn’t suck.
I love Sharon but yeah, this didn’t work. I think no one can sing this but Michael Stipe.
Another word for “emotionally immature” would be “fun,” stop taking shit so seriously! If you don’t think of Sleigh Bells like another Arcade Fire, but like a party band with an edge, maybe you’ll appreciate it more.
Also, I think this video gets the vibe of what the music tries to convey and is quite well made. Chill…
They have that power, of creating fanboys out of plain likers, or even non-fans. They sure as hell did that to me in 2003, back in São Paulo, and then Curitiba.
They’re not only incredibly talented artists who aren’t afraid to let their music grow and mature with their own aging, but also kickass guys who have zero ego problems – after the show they came out of the backstage and hung out with the starved Brazilian fans for the next hour or so, giving out autographs and just chit-chatting.
I can’t wait to see them again at Lincoln Hall, here in Chicago. Best birthday present ever.
This is definitely the Spinal Tap of 2010′s indie Rock.
Interesting statement here… she clearly has duct tape over her nipples, yet they went out of their way to blur the boobs.
And still, this video has zero chance of being on TV, so I don’t get the blur…
Gotta say, I’m not quite sure why I like this but I do. And it’s not just cause the girl is hot; this is pretty bold. Bravo Flamings.
I have a strange mix of feelings as I see this.
In one hand I remember what Obama being elected meant to me, and how amazing it is to see two people that were so inspiring to me share the stage and show genuine respect to each other.
And then I see all those people on stage, Jack White and Dave Grohl especially. I mean, who wouldn’t want to say they were on that stage… but they just look so tool-ish, clapping like idiots and barely singing, which reminds me where these guys started and what they are these days.
Whatever. In the end I think it’s nice.
I liked this better when it was called My Bloody Valentine.
Wait, I meant when it was called The Smiths.
Well, okay I guess this sounds different. I kinda dig it.
Amen to that.
Nothing personal against the girl, even enjoy the music and the lyrics, but good god, the voice just drives me nuts. It’s like listening to somebody drill holes on a metal sheet.
Kickass songs.
The pre-distortion is kinda funny, like the sound equivalent of jeans that come already worn.
Sounds awesome. Ben can take any song and make it his.
As much as I’d love to get a new Soundgarden, I gotta say I’m afraid of Chris Cornell…
I’m gonna go ahead and say good for him. Can’t wait to see what comes out of this. Everything decent about Oasis came from this guy.
Very sad news. I truly hope he was happy touring again after so many years. Ken Stringfellow and Jon Auer did us all a service…

Is that Stephin Merritt around 0:45??
