NME = British Rolling Stone
The album is streaming on Spinner.
Really? I thought the ending totally killed the episode. I mean showing Bart looking at a picture when he is older is akin to it being all a dream. It just felt cheap like we weren’t given a proper conclusion.
Great song. A few of their other songs aren’t quite as good but overall I think this band has a lot of potential. They just need to continue to develop that original sound they have.
IMO Coachella has a weak lineup this year. When Lollapalooza has a better lineup you know its a down year.
I think Electric Light Orchestra is well over due. Seriously, every member of The Traveling Wilburys is in except for Jeff Lynne.
I went back and took another look at the Coachella and Bonnaroo lineups and I gotta say Lollapalooza has the best lineup.
Yeah, this actually was a surprisingly good lineup. I don’t get how so many people are complaining about it. Just look at the last couple of lineups and then tell me this one is horrible.
WOW! Aubrey Plaza has managed to make an entire career out of doing nothing more than staring at the camera.
Hey grammar nazi, Dave should be capitalized. Just thought you’d like to know that.
I’m sorry but after Jonsi went solo I was expecting something different from Sigur Ros. This just sounds like they’re rehashing old ideas. It kinda seems hollow, like its a decaying husk of they’re trade mark sound.
They should do this for Danger Mouse.
Its ironic how all the comments on the post of “Comeback Kid” are negative where as here they’re positive. I would love nothing more than to see them fail on SNL and be exposed as lame Hip-Hop posers they are.
The video isn’t working. It says its private.
Do we really need more fake Indie music. This is just another artists for those who like Adele, Florence & The Machine, Coldplay, Muse, The Killers, Mumford & Sons…
Does anyone actually agree with Drake at the 2 spot? Do they just randomly pick albums? If not it seems like they really missed the mark this year. Meanwhile I haven’t seen Loch Lomond on any year end list.
My top 10
10. Thurston Moore – Demolished Thoughts
9. The Wilderness of Manitoba – When You Left The Fire
8. Alexander – Alexander
7. Daniel Knox – Everyman For Himself
6. Holy Ghost! – Holy Ghost!
5. DeVotchKa – 100 Lovers
4. Crystal Stilts – In Love With Oblivion
3. Destroyer – Kaputt
2. P.J. Harvey – Let England Shake
1. Loch Lomond – Little Me Will Start A Storm

Really? I would understand complaining about Stereogum for covering Coldplay but complaining about Coldplay and the song its self. This song is no where near as insufferable and some of the purely disgusting dreck out there. Just be glad Stereogum didn’t cover that new Maroon 5 song and leave it at that.
Unless you’re counting them as a 2010 band, Holy Ghost! really should have been on that list.
I didn’t even have to watch the Broken Bells video it was so blatant.
Sounds too much like the original just with bad vocals. If Wilie Nelson is gonna cover a song I would expect it to sound a little more Folk or Country like. That way his vocals harmonize with the music more and the song sounds better.
This is what I like to call beginners music. Its not necessarily bad but just very simple. Most people, like myself, move on to other more complex bands as their music tastes mature. You can only listen to Coldplay so many times before all of their songs start to sound exactly the same.
Almost forgot The Manitoba Wilderness – When You Left The Fire. Another great album that has also gotten little attention.

I’m not saying its a terrible lineup but its just a completely bland homogeneous mix of festival bands. Even the lesser know support acts aren’t terribly exciting either.
