Find Me On:
your post made me think of this british comedy sketch..hilarious.. cheeerioo
sorry for complaining I didnt know paste was a folk rock only magazine, dont really know it that well.
You guys should give a second chance to amon tobin, his last album is amazing. Yes i know he’s become a bit of hi-tech producer – it’s not pot-smoking-easy-listening-music anymore – but what he does is simply amazing. Go see videos of his ISAM tour with videomapping and you will see..listen to the album, keep an open mind!
Great 2011 rock/folk albums missing in this list: anna calvi, battles, bjork, bon iver, braids, connan mockasin, fink, garden & villa, here we go magic, julliana barwick, metronomy, panda bear, pj harvey, thao & mirah, the do, toro y moi, wu lyf.
sounds more like a “check-out-these-albuns-pick-the-ones-you-prefer “- list.
AND, there is no hip hop or electronica… hello, were in 2012!! I mean, what about the Amon Tobin album?? And it is all about US artists, how come Metronomy’s English Riviera isnt on the list, it was one of the 10 hottest albums of the summer… This list is very unprofessional… work harder music journalists!
yep she really looks like the stupid american girl that she is
guys..canal + is a french tv channel, not spanish…In Europe we make fun of americans for not knowing a thing about Europe/Asia/ Africa (remember sara palin “africa is a country”?) … do not fall into the cliche’ you guys are better than that…sorry for being a B***
The show – that we all saw on youtube anyway – is lovely, a very beautiful moment…
bands should start checking out fan videos before doing a video..its cheaper, more eco- friendly, and more democratic in a way…
not bad…but i prefered the fan video on youtube…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krR7O6Z-F5M&feature=share
What T&S are pointing out is definitely true, specially with all the hype growing around Tyler and his wolf gang, but me as an european outsider, who adores dark humour and pushing negative things to a caricatural extreme, I just can’t help “falling” for Tyler… it’s like if he ate up all of rotten america (i e the western world) and vomited it into a painting on the wall… it just makes a great effect on canvas, with all the mashed up pieces of dispair, horror, boredom, consumerism, plain human stupidity.
(speaking of which, this whole situation reminds me of an L Word episode when one of the main lesbian characters is persecuted for defending grotesque and violent art – maybe T&S should see that episode (again)! :) )
That said, it is definitely dangerous to expose this grotesque canvas to all the naive kids who where not brought up in an art school and are just going to get the 1st sense of tyler’s lyrics.. but anyway it’s not the 1st time we’ve seen this in history, Jim Morrison said kill your father fuck your mother and in the end all the kids got what he meant, or if they didn’t, at least it stirred up something deep inside their guts that just needed to get out…
Vomit away Tyler let it all out!
i want mooooooooorrreeeeeeeeee!
Frank Sinatra’s New York New York
its my big favourite…i can do a sober sinatra or a decadent version….people are usually quite impressed..to sing this song you really have to be a karaoke king, cuz it starts small and goes all the way to the high notes! I find it quite therapeutical, i feel great after belting it all out with style :)
Bohemian rapsody was my second choice, always fun to sing with several people…
And “my sharona” is perfect to mess people up. it’s really hard to follow the lyrics HA HA!
