Yeah I was thinking that when i made my list. It was on it but I ended up taking it off. Not sure why!
Yah you are TOTALLY right. It is all about advertising revenue so it is in their best interest to put out a bogus list like this so the page gets a lot of hits from people debating the list.
Everyone has a lot of varying lists but one thing is agreed by everyone that the original list is missing a lot of KEY songs. And the order is NO good either!
I should have put Hey in place of the Holiday Song. A minus 6 rating is crap. There are many great songs on all the albums but the Best are on the 1st three albums! And No one putting Vamos – you guys are lame as hell. The Lyrics and Joey’s Beer can or drum stick guitar solo. “All my Son’s will be well hung”
Which Wave of Mutilation. Neither the guy who did the original list nor you said if you are talking about UK Surf version or Doolittle
Every Concert I have seen – 4 since the reunion Kim has sung it – Amazing!!!! I remember the first time she played it. It blew me away. I bought copies of the Concerts I attended through their site and Have it. If you want it just send me your email address and i will pass it along!
You hit the nail on the head w/ Where is your mind?? Totally makes the whole top ten a joke. But the Surfer Rosa version of Vamos is my ALL TIME FAV. Not sure why it isn’t getting any love from other fans
I love Cactus. It is this crazy twisted Love Song and it is one of my all time favourites as well!
Dear Grumpy old man. I made my list below. My personal opinion is that all ten songs should be from the 1st three albums. I looked at it from many ways and tried my best to make a list that would represent the majority of fans. For that reason as well as it’s popularity when ever I have seen them play the song live it deserves a spot on the list. Everyone’s list is going to vary 1-10 but there are a few key Pixies tracks that can not be left off. One being, “Here Comes Your Man” And I am not saying that the other albums don’t have some solid tracks but nothing compared to the 1st three. If I had chose 10 that were my personal favourites my list would have been different. You are huffing glue if you don’t think it should fall in the top 25? That’s bull!
Just needed to correct myself. In my haste I put through instead of throw. My mistake. And I want to give honourable mention to “Hey” Which could easily be put on the list with no arguments from me!
Spinal Tap although AMAZING is not a Documentary. It’s a Mockumentary. But touring bands usually have it close at hand.
I agree. It maybe should be on it once if we are talking about top 10 songs of all time.

All ten best songs are found on “Come on Pilgrim” “Surfer Rosa” and of coarse “Doolittle”
I will through my ten out there but this person missed some KEY songs that just CANNOT be missed!

Now this list could be Debated but in my mind it is Hands Down much better then the one the Moron (and not Pixies Fan posted). I need to say “Monkey goes to Heaven” should probably be on the list. What people need to remember or know is that Come on Pilgrim were songs taken off the Demo or “The Purple Tape” so the production quality isn’t the best. Vamos is a perfect example! It sounds far better on Surfer Rosa. Plus you have to take in consideration LIVE. If you have ever seen them LIVE it changes the list in my mind. One song not on the list but needs to be mentioned, because it is so amazing is, “In Heaven (Lady in the Radiator) from the film Eraserhead. Kim sounds amazing singing it. It’s a haunting song!
What really Bugs me is music journalist that feel the need to use all the huge, elaborate words to describe the bands albums and songs. It is completely ridiculous. For the average reader these days this review would seem like it’s in another language. It is so dramatic and very elites . As if the reviewer is some snob music listener that thinks he is a bigger fan of music then the next person because they can say things like, “divergent interests” and “polyrhythmic elegance” If you ever read any books or blogs from bands themselves – they don’t use these kinds of words. So why do journalists (if that’s what you want to call them” feel the need to make everything sound so melodramatic. It needs to stop.
It’s not because of the reviews. If you watch the Documentary they even said it wasn’t there best. Every other album I can list cover to cover except that one! If you like though – good for you, but it’s not just reviewers it’s also the band and fans that think this way. By that album they had toured and made albums at such a ferocious rate that the band as a whole was kind of burnt out.
