Sometimes I get the idea that Abel doesn’t actually have sex with anyone, he just sings about what he thinks would happen if he was having sex with people.
Is it weird that I want there to be a Gunplay documentary? Dude just seems like he’s got one hell of a backstory.
This is a refreshing break from listening to Daft Punk’s new album.
In an alternative universe this song would be insanely popular.
Yeah I agree with what you’re saying here. Based on what I’ve read and heard, it was basically when the toured with U2 that really drove them toward the arena kind of sound. Because of the Times, I thought, was a pretty great album. They found a really nice balance between harder-edged, aggressive tracks, like Charmer, and the big anthemic songs. Only By the Night did alright with the anthemic songs, you can’t tell me if Use Somebody wasn’t massively overplayed it wouldn’t be considered a guilty pleasure for a lot of people, and Sex on Fire is irritating but damn catchy. But all the edge is taken out of the music. Come Around Sundown took a lot of the anthemic stuff but the edge is still not there, everything is too relaxed and lackadaisical. A lot of the songs from that album actually sound far better live with a little more bite in the guitar and bass and the production not so smoothed over.
I think they’re starting to get the edge back though, they’ve been in the spotlight and I don’t think they really enjoyed it all that much, and if they’re going to start taking more influence from bands like QOTSA, I think it bodes well for this next album. Hopefully its not ruined by way too glossy production.
Can we just talk about how much better the album version of Get Lucky is compared to the radio edit?
I think its pretty damn good.
I’m convinced if you made Caleb sing this song in a basically unintelligible way and gave Jared and Matt their set ups from Aha Shake Heartbreak and told them to play this exact song, it would sound like an outtake from Aha Shake Heartbreak.
Well if this song is any indication of the sound of the next album, they’re definitely moving in that direction. Its been a while since Matthew has played a riff that badass without a bunch of effects over top of it, or a solo that is anything like that.
The best part is the random Beats Pill out of nowhere.
Wait, are you trying to say that Youth and Young Manhood sounds the same as everything else they’ve done?
Clearly you’ve never listened to Kings of Leon.
The last minute of “Unbelievers” is magic.
I’m not gonna lie. I wish Gambino was on NaNa instead of Bronson. I think he would’ve been perfect for it.
An hour or two? I’d start yelling for a different song after the second time.
Chance is about to BLOW UP.
Can’t wait til he’s an XXL Freshman next year.
Wasn’t digging Soulo’s verse on this one but the beat and Chance make up for it.
To me, Snoop’s album is basically really good white-boy reggae.
FOREVA IS A MIGHTY LONG TIME
To be fair they were probably all blazed as shit.
I’m convinced people that don’t like this song aren’t good at having fun.
Obviously you aren’t a mother father gentleman or you’d get it.
Anyone who doesn’t like Rush can lick my balls…
Mr Garrison.
‘LISTEN TO THIS TRACK, BITCH”
Well this is going to be AWESOME
Perfect.

Non-ironic praise of Kings of Leon on MY Stereogum? I’ll have none of it.
