“I will be as harsh as truth and as uncompromising as justice … I will not retreat a single inch and I will be heard.” is not a quote from Abraham Lincoln. The anti-abolitionist publisher William Lloyd Garrison wrote this in his own paper The Liberator. That’s why it’s recited by a different speaker from Lincoln.

I cited it in a pretentious way, I admit, but it’s not that difficult an observation.
