This is borderline Radiohead!
Oh, new Wavves song!! Didn’t realize they started putting commercials in songs now.
Stereogum: Why do you have audio advertisements? Ruins the first listen!
I agree 100%. Applesauce was my favorite song from their last album, kind of a bummer the video is so horrible.
This sounds pretty hipster in its own right. Saw them live with Grizzly Bear and they were outstanding.
This review could have easily been three words: this album sucks.
Pathetic attempt at a debut, especially for an album that’s supposedly made for 2013.
Trap music needs to die. Until then, the only rap worth listening to comes from Kendrick Lamar.
Saw them live tonight, they opened with “Speak in Rounds” .. and just saw that Pitchfork gave them a 9.1! The songs sound incredible in person!!
Awwww, John Mayer never got you laid? Sorry, bro.
Wahh wahhhhhhhhhh..
I’m pretty sure it sounds a lot like “Don’t Bring Me Down” by the Electric Light Orchestra.
I’m onto you, Hives!
I’m finding more humor in the fact that some of you are upset (and in some cases infuriated) about this.
If you’re taking things this seriously, I’d hate to see how miserable your friends and family are around you during your one hour rants about Atlas Sound and art.
*rimshot*
But, seriously..
DUDE. Did you hear that line about YEEZY!?!?
Sometimes a little GTA is necessary if you plan on reaching a glowing, seizure-inducing Coldplay party on time.
I can tell you’re really deep because Kafka is in your username.
Sounds great! Putting my subwoofer to work.
Horrible. So sappy and simple, Cuomo definitely had his hand in this. Garbage pop..
Grow up, Rivers.
Lou Reed – New York
Abbey Road
Hipster alert!
I don’t know enough Bjork to compare, really, but Bradford is really on top of it as of late. By as of late, I mean the past three or so years. Last Deerhunter album was perfect. Keep it up!
Atmospheric? Not as good as “Dreams Money Can Buy” ..
The Clash – London Calling
Why read a post about a band you don’t give a shit about?
Logic.. maybe you should invest in a college education.
It’s not a bad song. If you listen to the instrumentation at the beginning and combine that context with the rest of the song and its lyrics you realize the song is almost downright depressing. “How can we make it back there? I want to be there again” they’re talking about how they’ve been unable to rediscover that sound everyone knows and loves.. you know, the one most of you are pretty much whining for throughout this entire post. He actually addresses you chipper, supportive chums around two minutes in..
Sorry, man. I get worked up sometimes, to say the least!
I agree, she’s a wordsmith, few compare to her, but you can’t really compare her to Kanye.
His flow isn’t outstanding, sure, but the man’s production skills are matched by very, very few. He’s a breath of fresh air for hip-hop/rap fans. Just because a shit ton of people enjoy him doesn’t mean he’s overrated.
Not saying it’s your argument by any means but I can’t stand people one-line trashing artists without something to back it up. You did back it up, so fair enough. Everyone’s entitled to an opinion, I just wish more people would back them up.
Why listen or comment if you don’t give a shit about the artist?
If you’re trying to be a douchebag, then you’ve succeeded. Congratulations!
Please, enlighten us with artists you consider to be superior? I want to know so bad. SO bad.

I’d imagine this gentleman above us probably just read Spin’s article in less than 30 seconds and then gave us his thoughts on it.
I always love talking to music fans like this guy. I just politely nod at all the wrong things they say.
Seriously, though. D’Angelo? …. D’Angelo?
(BTW his name has a capital A)
