While we’re on the subject: why are most of Spoon’s album titles crap?
You said it brother. That the author of the piece above regards being Wire-y as “frustrating” shows where his allegiances lie. Though it also points up the fact that Daniels has an astonishingly wide range. A lot of latecomers to Spoon just don’t get the early stuff.
I’m off to listen to Sneaks for the umpteenth time.
A Series of Sneaks is a brilliant record. On par with Bee Thousand/Alien Lanes as a definitive post-postpunk statement. I can never understand why it’s so underrated. It’s fucking GENIUS
