You guys take everything too seriously. Which gets a boo.
Ezra and the Discovery boyz breaking out a tune about drunken nights at the disco gets a hurrah. Because it’s infectious and carefree and makes most people wanna dance.
Plus it’s summer and plus there’s an abundance of indie music out now that takes itself so fucking seriously, which (don’t get me wrong) results in some awesome songs and albums, but this stuff is a like an upgrade for you when you feel like listening to something with a beat and some r n b flavor–an upgrade from turning on the top 40 rap station. Anyway, it’s great for what it sets out to do, which is entertain. Ezra’s voice is sugary as well.
Wow, I have to say both this video and the one for Knife just distract from the quality of the music for me. The imagery contrasts too much with the song, tone-wise and lyrically. I have to admit, just now was my first time watching either of these or hearing either song, but I really enjoy the experience more of just listening, without the video.
In other words, video director FAIL!
This video was beautiful, especially for a low-budget, fan made video. I have to say, though, I thought the lyric was “tall in stature and exceptionally READ,” not “exceptionally RED.” I am nitpicking, but I am sure he could easily edit that one bit and he probably should if he wants them to make it the official video.
Great coverage! The video/sound would be a welcome addition if it ever surfaces…
Also, it’s *Michiko KAKUTANI
Record store day was awesome!!!
Firstly, saw Telekinesis live at Sonic Boom Records in Seattle. Then, was delighted to find a Thao/Thermals split 7″ to go along with my CD choices, the new Camera Obscura, “My Maudlin Career,” and Death Cab’s “Open Door EP.” Also got the Camera Obscura “French Navy” 7″. It was a good day.
Thanks. I appreciate you clarifying that. BITCH
Ironically, I found fewer grammatical errors in this post than in any of his previous posts that I’ve read. ( ” I’M SURE THERE’S GRAMMATICAL ERRORS IN THIS… THAT’S HOW YOU KNOW IT’S ME!”) Kanye, you never cease to puzzle me!
RIght you are. Thanks for letting me know about Blip.fm… I needed enlightening. Sorry everyone.
Thank you. That’s basically the sentiment I was getting at. You were more tactful…haha
Stop with the obnoxious posts that are clearly designed to flaunt the fact that you have somehow obtained the album before its release date. The general public hasn’t heard these songs…great that you have, but if all you’re going to say is your favorite tracks, I don’t see the point to posting, other than to show off how savvy you are. Which is frankly, kind of douchey.
This is really good. Not amazing or anything, but I think it’s a nice choice to make a full band song out of it. I do hope, to some degree, that the next album will hearken back to Transatlanticism a bit more, but I also recognize that lightning rarely strikes twice in the same place, so I guess I just hope the next step will be something new and exciting that clicks just a bit better than Stairs. From the preview samples on amazon, the songs on the ep sound Stairs-y, but not in a bad way really. Looking forward to the rest of the week’s songs.
Eh…Go listen to a stream of Telekinesis’ record instead at http://mergerecords.com/
For some reason, I thought Animal Collective would come off as a little more…insightful? Is that the word? I dunno. Maybe it was just the questions, but they seemed like there wasn’t much going on in their heads. Maybe the music takes up their whole mental capacity…
See, there you go!
Stereogum:
You suck at posting the new Telekinesis stuff. I thought you liked them. And today we get Royksopp! But no Telekinesis? I don’t understand you guys sometimes. This isn’t terrible, but seriously, you shafted Telekinesis.
Now I have to pick up the pieces:
NEW! Telekinesis – Tokyo video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FD8XhRfn6Rg
Stream the new album at http://www.mergerecords.com. It’s awesome!
Haha *Deerhunter!
No wonder people didn’t like that comment so much!
Bradford Cox to stage production team: “I must be shrouded in fog as I emerge from the shadows guitar in hand, looking like an alien life-form descending from his crash-landed saucer or a ghost emerging from a covert swamp. Only then will the crowd really be bathed in the atmosphere that is, and can only be described as, Deerhoof!”
I think I’ll just keep listening to this stream of the new M. Ward album instead.
Unbelievably great in its simplicity. There isn’t enough music like this out there today, that is, unadorned, earnest, sing along power pop. I am so excited for this album. It will likely be one of my favorites of the year, especially if their live performance was any indication (obviously it will be) of what the record has in store!
God damn it. Fuck dirty posts glorifying Grizzly Bear as some kind of force above all other bands that have albums out this year. First of all, there’s no reason other music can’t get people excited at the same time as Grizzly Bear’s album. If you want to listen to nothing but that for the rest of the year, it’s your prerogative, not a requirement for all people. Second, the imagery is disgusting.
(I’m guessing this is the same poster who claimed he would rate the sound of Grizzly Bear’s semen rolling down his face a 9.6/10. So, yeah, fuck him.)
What the fuck is this poop talking about? What does Tom Waits have to do with this?
Pretty good stuff… Love the videos So Me has done, too… Can’t wait to hear KC’s album now… Although Kid Cudi is a lame name for sure.
Also, Travis Barker FTW.
Awesome! ?Now you all just need to get the spelling thing down and you’ll be golden!
God damn! She’s annoying as SHIT.

I dig the new intro! In the context of the album, maybe the old intro works, but I’m glad they switched it up for the single. This song just became a near perfect single.
Cheers to Asobi Seksu, one of the best in the business right now.
