Oh, and… 6. Isaac Delusion – Midnight
I look at Pitchfork’s list like this. Stuff I already have a lot of and love and agree they should be on this list.
Stuff that I never really listened to, but will definitely give them a shot and will probably end up liking.
Stuff that sounds like crap to me, I have no interest in, but I know that someone else probably loves these songs and I am OK with it. And finally, stuff that didn’t appear that amazes me because I personally freakin’ loved these songs no end.
1.Django Django – Default
2. Edward Sharpe – That’s Whats Up
3. Maccabees – Glimmer (or Ayla…can’t decide!)
4.Tanlines – All of Me
5. Lemonade – Softkiss
This isn’t a complaint about this list, but rather a general question….did the Hidden Cameras not appear on anyone’s list because people thought the album wasn’t that good (I thought it was amazing – see Mild Mannered Army) or because no one was aware it was released?
because it is VERY IMPORTANT to point out that people have different musical tastes and absolutely IMPERATIVE that other people know yours
I think Diamond Rings should be on there. And why does no one like Bombay Bicycle Club? Too British?
I like these bands…
This is my list, and I am sticking to it…
1. School of Seven Bells
2. Owen Pallett
3. The National
4. Women
5. Diamond Rings (People need to hear this!)
6. Sleigh Bells
7. Wolf Parade
8. Black Mountain
9. Steve Mason (criminally underrated ex Beta Band)
10. Bombay Bicycle Club

Interesting to note that CBC and Pitchfork agree on the number one song of the year…and things get quite different. Mind you, CBC is only limited to Canadian songs. Still, some real gems on the list.
