wayne coyne. yeah. this seems about right.
maybe even not quite wacky enough. i did see a drawing of a dragon in there though, so it seems like he’s got some big plans to piss off the neighbors or something.
your comment says :) but your avatar says :(
so confused.
i hope Matt Berninger is right when he calls it their best record, because if this is better than Boxer this album will dominate my itunes for a long while. maybe “happy” is more along the lines of So Far Around The Bend. that song is definitely more catchy/poppy than their other stuff.
yup. zebra>norway.
fallon needs to get rid of the crowd behind the band. it’s just weird and awkward with all those people bobbing their heads back there.
some people in the UK will buy this because they all apparently spring erections at the mere mention of Kings of Leon.
really? am i the only person that likes the peacebone video?
peacebone is their best video, hands down, in my opinion.
i am totally lost. i thought the hipsters were also playing the part of the snobbs.
best 6-dildo/music box set ever?
i will only assume so.
one of the problems with this list (and others) is it’s obvious knack for choosing the singles from a good album and saying it’s the best song but it’s actually just the song that people tend to know better.
…and i know somebody already said this but SUFJAN! YOU ARE THE BLOOD!
biggest travesty this isn’t on the list. The National – So Far Around The Bend is a great great song.
in general i think Dark Was The Night allowed some artists a means to release a song that they had in the arsenal but didn’t really fit with their previous albums and it turned out as a really nice change of pace.
Return To Cookie Mountain is hands down better than Dear Science. they got that backwards.
i think the sad fact behind believing that we were the target audience for a lot of these movies is that when they show up on this list, it means the marketing worked.
such as the oh so annoying 500 days of summer background change stereogum did around it’s premiere.
p.s. knock that shit off, stereogum. never again.
DAMN! i forgot about that until i read your comment.
my single vote still goes to 30 Rock but Bored To Death is pretty awesome. Ted Danson is funnier than ever before.
this is pretty nice work, everybody.
obviously people’s individual tastes would switch the order up and change some out, but if you remove the numbers from the list and make it unranked, this is a really solid collection.
apparently this revolution was not televised
yes, please.
OH SHIT! i just read the celebrity gummy ballots and ted leo reminded me…PON DE FLOOR! what the fuck, everybody!? biggest omission on any of these lists!
glad to see that microsoft song smith made the list. i forgot about it and shit myself when i watched it again.
keyboard cat is the obvious runaway winner though. that little guy was everywhere.
seriously, i was skeptical because i didn’t like The Soup, but Community is pretty funny.
thank you! everybody is drinking too much veckatimest koolaid.
yellow house > veckatimest (ALL DAY LONG!!!!)
Fever Ray’s video for If I Had A Heart was way cooler than When i Grow Up.
Way cooler than most or all of these.
Holly Miranda, you fools!
camera obscura is way too low. listen to it again, everybody. and again. and again.
didn’t like how this started but finished up nicely. the video did have a pudgy cat and schlitz in it though so that’s a plus.
pretentious is definitely not the right word. i like animal collective and understand why some people wouldn’t like their music (or their hype) but i have to admit, i am expecting something like an hour and half of animal collective wacky music video, and that doesn’t really float my boat. hope they prove me wrong.
a little tip, if you’re going to be an asshole you better release some good music to make everybody forget about your commentary. this song, however, is a better reason to hate on them than the idiocy surrounding the harry patch song.

really good album. i hope they become a late addition to some festivals this summer.
