Totally disagree with this statement. It may not be as ‘risky’ as some of their earlier stuff. But there’s a lot of value in the maturity displayed in this album, and I’m not using ‘maturity’ as a synonym for ‘boring’. I’d say the rest of us would agree that the walkmen are a band that have really honed their craft.
I love this song! “Watch over you” by Coastal Resort. Man, their album ‘Adolescent sleep thoughts’ was on heavy rotation for me for like a year.

My thoughts exactly. despite all the fucked up imagery, this is still less crazy than that astronaut who drove across the country in diapers with plans of a jealousy fueled murder.
Does anyone else get a Bond-theme vibe from this song? c’mon, the way he sings the title “but the gun… haaas no triggeeer!” It just needs a string section. I mean that in the best way, I’m really digging this track.
