Friendship Bracelet not Friendship Club.
yo yuktails,
send those heady brew jams over to chocolate bobka. all we do is repost this crap.
is this guy relevant enough for a backlash?
sorta funny considering he unabashedly endorsed the roland made sp404 when person pitch came out. cool nonetheless.
saturday not friday
anyone remember those masonic temple shows? one i went to was the worst sounding show id ever been to. can’t blame the unions for that one. although, the masons could take the fall.
their contribution to the dark was the night comp is pretty fucking incredible. maybe its the nico muhly treatment.
according to legend, it was up, captured by peenko, and almost immediately removed.
new white antelope cover. bob dylan’s “it ain’t me babe.” yep.

agreed. that drum sounds is iLL, sorta like an empty water drum being pounded by a mallet. that ringing boom. mmm mmm good. vocals are frigid and nice too. perfect for this weather in BK.
I wouldn’t worry about that considering he’s been a pretty active on the board, even after becoming “known.” and, no its not the first time “the whole fucking world” has been informed of robin pecknolds atease posts. just be glad the dude’s releasing more music.
point of clarification, robin wrote that on the AtEase board in response to a post I wrote (I also write Chocolate Bobka) on the board about the work in question. Really nice to have someone as forthright and humble as he getting such wonderful attention and still interacting with the people. Needless to say, very excited for some new FF/Pecknold material.
“drupal”= web content management system
despite what the BV commenters have to say, this was an excellent, jovial evening. Good times had, at least by the people in the front, where it sounded great.
never thought the bastion of uppity young preps, aka Ridgewood, NJ, would be such an indie hot spot. As Titus would say “Now you’re doing time for stealing candy from a babe because all the kids in Ridgewood have got cell phones these days.”
yeah. agreed. some super slinky fnk guitar and really warm rhodes. diggin it
Ha. Only reason I know that is because Venice has been a personal fave since I got it from y’all. grazi.
if by “five new solo Condon home recordings under his “Realpeople” moniker” you mean 2 songs (“My Night with the Prostitute…”, “Venice”)that have been previously released over the past 2 years and 3 new ones, than yeah.
these weren’t listed but definitely should be:
marissa nadler- little hells
girls- tba?
dent may
phoenix
is that james ford from simian on drums (and arctic monkeys former prod.)?
wow. were we at the same show guys? i thought it was, hands down, one of the best productions i’ve ever seen. never a dull moment. totally absurd. totally awesome. bob guccione would be proud.
Agreed 100%. Is it me or do the new versions of songs on The Rhumb Line (“Dying Is Fine”, “Can You Tell”, “Ghost”, etc) not even come close to matching the bright eyed urgency of the same songs on previous recordings. Still think the demo version of “Dying…” with John Pike is, by far, the best.
mp3tini….wow.
My bad, it just looked weird the way you wrote. I resend my argument.
hell of a week of shows, eh? first the port o’brien/delta spirit ramble and then fleet foxes. NY almost feels like the country. At least for a few hours thursday and saturday night.

oh right, its not House to Dress Well either.
