god damn, way too much good stuff leaked this week. how the hell and i supposed to listen to all of this and watch copious amounts of college football over the next few days?? life is hard.
i’m with you. lyrics aren’t all that great either, though.
ah, ok. well in that case, i really don’t care for this album at all, haha.
and now that i’m looking into it a bit, i see that pete rock produced “the joy” – explains a lot as to why i dig it.
nice. well, i’ll definitely check out nostalgia/ultra, on the basis of that comment. i actually wasn’t even aware that he’s done anything other than the hooks on this and goblin – and presumably on the radical mixtape, although i couldn’t even tell you which songs he might be on. a lot of this OF stuff (that is, the stuff that i’ve heard) has been hit or miss for me, but when it’s good, it’s pretty damn good.
well, that was a boring and disappointing hour – aside from the curtis mayfield bonus track, which is actually pretty solid. also, why does everyone have such a hard on for frank ocean? he sounds like a standard hook-man to me, and not much else… without using the word “swag,” tell me what i’m missing here.
actually, she said “no no no.”
goodbye amy. you will be remembered more because you weren’t 26 or 28 when you kicked it.
let’s test your theory… I HATE JOANNA NEWSOM AND SHE NEEDS TO GET HER LAME ASS THE FUGG OUTTA MUSIC!
seconding dmx. also some new liquid tv. that was awesome.
very well could’ve been annie. she’s got crazy guitar skills… even a bit longstrehyyy at times, now that i think about it.
ryan dicks/jerkstore has a hard-on right now.
what in the hell is a “sincerity kid?”
oh yeah, and this song is dogshit. i don’t need to hear these two talk about rolexes or benzes or how they’re they’re better than everyone else anymore. I’VE HEARD IT A MILLION FUCKING TIMES FROM THEM. gets old. do something interesting.
you should check out mos def’s newest, if you already haven’t. or blu & exile’s “below the heavens.” not comparable to radiohead or arcade fire (i don’t even know how you’d do that), but it could restore some of your faith in hip-hop. artistic for sure.
and this, people, is why the term “hipster” has come to be regarded with a negative connotation.
no, if modest mouse released this song, i would be monumentally baffled. as to why they sound exactly like the chili peppers.
then i would sling my post-masturbatory juices at you for being such an insufferable twat.
FALSE. by the way is amazing.
no, i won’t be doing that.
ugh, seeing those balloons and the flaming lips in my avatar makes my comment all the worse.
ugh, seeing those glasses and that forehead in your avatar makes your comment all the worse.
high hopes for this album. “criminally underrated” is spot on.
have you seen telephone? not that i’m a fan, but it’s quite a production. i don’t even remember my name is.
the foster song sounds just like peter bjorn and john, givers sound just like vampire weekend, cults are another jimmy-jangle faux lo-fi band. chalk it all up to catchy summer music – and i wouldn’t call any of it “indie,” as there’s barely such a genre anymore. more like “internet rock.”
a much better foster song is “call it what you want.” that’s a good jam.
one year does not equal a generation.
his “down in a hole” cover is better.
