I bet Rolling Stone is readying their cover. A picture of Julian and co. and in large text: “Can the Strokes SAVE ROCK AND ROLL……AGAIN??!”
And of course all of Ween’s albums were made while stone cold sober.
This is exciting! Great track, and I have been waiting a while for some new stuff since their great last album. A double album by Field Music is still not enough Field Music. I can’t wait until February.
It doesn’t really seem like they have a firm grasp on what is going on.
Did the Geologist say “Cruelety”? My feeling upon seeing this was, “Hey guys, shut the fuck up and make music.”
Some artists can get away with being socially aware. AnCo has no clue.
I don’t really think Steely Dan is Yacht Rock. I also don’t think they would ever do this in a million years.
Sounds better than anything on The Con. I wish there was some higher quality audio out there to listen to.
Ithaca is full of hippies.
Very awesome. I am definitely looking for that 7″ This reminds me of a tape that I had as a kid, but I can NOT for the life of me remember the artist. This will do. It’s great.
I am more and more awe struck with each thing that Weezer does. I used to think, and HOPE that it was all one big ironic gesture. But Weezer has become what they used to seem to be against. Please, someone, make them stop.
This is amazing music. I can’t believe it is all created just down the street from me.
I have been going batshit crazy about this news for the past several hours and I just stopped cumming long enough to post this.
I now have a reason to live.
Never heard of these guys before. Great track. Kind of reminds me of Grand Theft Bus, but a little more reggae inflicted.
Also, I didn’t realize that Ethan Hawke even had a band. Good for him.
Panic Switch is my favorite new band.

This is pretty amazing. Just saw Owen at the Pitchfork festival and he played mostly new songs which made me excited for the new album.
This performance here though was just epic.
This is truly great news. It brightened my day. If only The Futureheads were as consistent as Field Music.
But…..what will happen with Bubbles??
We’d go to Cheeburger Cheeburger and talk about making mistakes, like “reforming” the pumpkins and Blinking with Fists.
I disagree. Everyone is SY is great. They are not snobs at all. When I have talked with Thurston he was the most friendly and down to Earth guy I have come in contact with.
Perhaps people are scared by intelligence in their musicians, and they think they are being snobbish when in fact they are just well-read and well-articulate.
Because it is Mark Fucking Ibold. He is awesome. I don’t think Geddy Lee would really work well here in this context. Is that what you are inferring?
Their performance here is just great, great mix too. Flawless.
Why was Jimmy Buffet there? Is it one of those “irony” things?
It’s good to see Brooklyn own it at Bonnaroo, if even for one day.
I think Phish’s earlier recordings show what great composer/arrangers they really are, things started to get lost and diluted more and more once you are this side of “A Picture of Nectar”.
Too early. I think that goes up next week.

Feeling so old. Oh god.
