All Points West Brings Coachella Party East

All Points West Brings Coachella Party East

Judging from the Coachella '08 comments, folks are disappointed at this year's lineup. Stay strong concert goers, you may have less reason to weep: The aforementioned rumors of a Coachella East are true, though this puppy, housed at Jersey City's Liberty State Park, will be called All Points West Music & Arts Festival because, historically, "immigrants who came to Ellis Island would go to the Central Railroad of New Jersey terminal, which is still on the park's grounds, then board trains for 'all points west.'" Now you know! Sign up for updates at the official site, though they haven't said much yet, aside from the dates (8/8-8/10). Also, no camping allowed. Lady Liberty's kinda bummed.

If its true, and Radiohead are in fact playing, i will most defiantly be brought to tears. and plus it will give me something to look forward to because summer usually sucks

did they by any chance announce a schedule yet?

no camping is kinda bullshit. a weekend festival without tents adorned with smelly people and drugs is something of a yawn.

oh, this reminds me: a friend just went to see the statue and security took his allen wrench away. you know, that little capital L-shaped metal bar, like 3 inches long, you can use to tighten and loosen a certain kind of bolt. and no cameras allowed in the second security screening room on the island, so tha terriss can't find out how many GE bomb-sniffing machines they have. boo modern liberty.

Wow. Jersey's getting not one, but two big-name festivals this year. Color me excited.

Band To Watch: Fredrik

Earlier this year we shined a light Swedish pop outfit the LK and their electro lovely, wintry gem "Stop Being Perfect." Had we known the band had a side project sooner, we probably would have written sooner. Instead, we came...

Quit Your Day Job: Megafaun

Raleigh-via-Eau Clair BTW Megafaun debuted impressively earlier this year with Bury The Square. The trio nip-and-tuck experimental tendencies (tape splicing, white noise colliding with banjo, junkyard-laced spring reverb, screeching feedback at the tail end of a quiet back porch lament)...

Premature Evaluation: of Montreal - Skeletal Lamping

Skeletal Lamping is anything but skeletal. When we took a close listen to album closer "Id Engager" we mentioned it wasn't the strangest, most ambitious, or best tune on of Montreal's new one, but after absorbing the other 14 tracks,...
