Jammin' On The One

Jammin' On The One

Bill Cosby -- "old, unfunny, and, quite possibly, mentally ill" -- has a rap album coming out. It's called State of Emergency. Funny, 'cause we thought Cosby was generally against rap. Or maybe he's just against Ebonics. Reportedly, "[it] will not contain any profane language, nor will it offer any denigrating comments towards women." And, presumably, it won't contain a Clipse cameo. Who is the audience for this?

Well, jesus, could it be WORSE than a Clipse album. Doubtful. Bet it shows some Boogie Down Productions influence. There are more than a few rappers-- "underground" and otherwise-- who could learn a thing or two from the Cos.

So any chances of Will "cool with college kids" Smith spitting some hot fire on this album? Chris Martin or Vampire Weekend cameo?

I just think your headline is funny because I remember that episode. That Theo, so crazy! Great Caesar's ghost!

That was a great episode.

Stevie Wonder: "what would you say to your friends at a party?"

Theo: "Jammin on the One"

Okay, this is pretty stupid. Bill Cosby hates rap music because most of it is petty lyrics blanketed in noise. And he's more sane than almost all of the music critics who praise the musical equivalent of Debby Does Dallas.

hey now. lay off on the cos. i went to see him in long beach a few weeks ago and he was amazing. he's one of the few comedians who actually adapts his material to changes around him. he may be "old" but he isn't stupid. he knows what he's doing.

Bill Cosby is pretty sweet. I suggest you find "Hicky Burr" its a Quincy Jones song featuring Bill Cosby on the vocals. I think it was a cosby theme song at one point, any how, that song is funky.
