Hooters 3.0
The Hooters -- almost as much as the Mummers -- make us think Philadelphia. The boys are back after fourteen years with a new album Time Stand Still, which came out yesterday. Maybe they're not considered cool, but members of the Hooters wrote "Time After Time" and "One of Us." Plus, "All You Zombies" taught us about the Bible. You can hear a few old and few new songs at MySpace, including an interesting, slow-build cover of "The Boys Of Summer." Go Eagles (almost).

Those of us illadelphians who remember them from back in the day, are willing to admit they were and still are cool. I hope every hipster indie band ever written about writes a song as good as "All You Zombies."

I'm not a native of Philly, but I lived there for a few years AFTER the Hooters' hey day and they are still worth listening to even for this Hollywood hipster.
