It's Not That Hard To Handle

It's Not That Hard To Handle

We brought you Counting Crows yesterday and figured, what the hell, it's about time for another old flock to fly by. The Black Crowes haven't released an album in seven years, but the drought ends in March with Warpaint, which Chris Robinson & Co. are releasing on their own Silver Arrow label. They could be pretty inconsistent, but Southern Harmony had some awesome moments. Plus, they had a good Behind The Music where they spoke shit about Rick Rubin, who wanted to rename the band Kobb Kounty Krows (KKK) early on. Rick has a lot of good ideas like that. Take a listen to the Crowes' first post-Kate Hudson material at their MySpace.

They're playing SXSW. I wonder if the indie kids will go for it.

yeah, the black crows are sick live. I don't understand whey they get so much flack.

I saw them at MSG on New Years Eve a couple of years ago. Boring. Not boring "I want to die," but boring in the "wow, these guys really hate and each other and perfected this set somewhere around 1996 and sort of look like they don't want to be here..." I remember them not selling out the show at all.

Indie kids are not going to bite on it at all. Especially because they didn't play "she talks to angels."

Southern Harmony and Amorica are two gems that I think still hold up today...anything after that, not so much.

Highly recommend those two albums though.

Honestly, does anyone really think the Black Crowes care if "indie kids" like them? They're rock and roll, not indie rock. Stop being holier than thou and go buy Exile on Main Street and see where everything else comes from.
