Les Savy Fav Strip Their Way Through

Les Savy Fav Strip Their Way Through "Patty Lee" On Conan

Last night manic street punkers Les Savy Fav got their second big break, bringing the "Patty Lee" dance party to Conan's house. Tim starts as a superhero, but you get a sense of where things are headed when the cape comes off and the hips start gyrating a bit. The sliced bird head, that's still a little wtf. Bonusly, you'll find even more reasons to think Tim Harrington is the coolest man alive: He picks up after himself. What a great guest.

Conan giving a post-performance bow is a sign that they should be back in the future. That shit was deadly squire.

I'd cross it too if I possessed the skillz that Les Savy Fav has! They were amazing!!

i love how after it's over he's like "oh shit" and immediately picks up after himself. fantastic.

also, if he's not a member of the sag or wga, he's not really doing anything wrong.

Sorry, but that "performance" was horrible. Style over any substance...

You must be pretty square....or insanely hip! I'm sure it's the latter. You must be so cool. We'll all look forward to you performing in front of the world, or breaking all kinds of barriers with your amazing wit. Keep being rad man!

Hahahaha!!

Fed-Ex Pope: Please double check that you are not dead inside.

First: Tim just wants to rock and dance and take off clothes. Who would deny a man that?

Second: If there's one thing that performance fully lacked, it was anything close to "style."

Was that an illicit Manic Street Preachers reference thrown in there? Because if so, I really appreciate it! You guys should show them more Stereogum love.

That's awesome. Craziest show I've ever seen was them at the 9:30 Club in DC. He put some guy's camera down his pants, climbed the speakers, then started swinging from the rafters like a gymnast, then a bunch of us held his feet as he leaned all the way over the balcony and sang. Nuts.

Andrew,
You should listen to the episode of The Sound of Young America from a couple of weeks ago. The guests were Syd Butler and Tim Harrington of LSF and they talked about their stage antics at that 9:30 Club show.

If you ever get the chance to meet LSF in person, they are some of the nicest and most intelligent guys you'll have the privilege of conversing with. With that said, Tim is either bipolar or the greatest thespian of our time.

Les Savy Fav and Tim H are excellent. I don't know if they're too hip for punk kids or too punk for hip kids, but I do know that the show is always sold out when they play here in Seattle (which isn't often enough). Not only is their music fun, but Tim's such a maniac that you can't help but get crazy yourself. Last show here, he came on stage wearing a stuffed unicorn over his head, which he then took off, sucked on it's horn and tore it to shreds. And he was only getting started.

I loved the old 9:30 Club, down on F street. It was about the size of my living room. Best shows in the world there.

well the last band I saw at the 9:30 Club was D-Plan (now there's a band I miss every single day), but those stage antics were also seen at a Bowery Ballroom show a few months back (even the balcony bit)... and that was all being filmed for something. Actually, it might have been the CD release show... can't remember. In any case, they're awesome.

When something as rad as Les Savy Fav happens, there's always going to be jealous haters, wanna bees, and those people who just can't handle anything in this life that puts them to shame. As for me, I'll gladly admit that Les Savy Fav is completely rad. I have no problem accepting that they're really good at what they do and completely unique. Hell, I even hope they blow up more. As for the hates such as fed-ex pope.....what is a fed-ex pope? That name sucks. I'll admit that that person probably sucks. I accept that they are invalid. Hahahaa! That was fun!
