New Presidents Of The United States Of America -

New Presidents Of The United States Of America - "Mixed Up S.O.B."

Since it's a political sort of day, how about some new music from POTUSA? You loved them for their "Lump" "Peaches" "Kitty" and probably not for much after that, but the band's been cranking 'em out off and on for the past decade and are releasing These Are The Good Times People this March. "Mixed Up S.O.B." is the first single, streaming at MySpace. Probably won't be inspiring "Weird Al" satire ala "Gump" but then, very little could.

I've always been a Presidents fan. I still think they write some of the catchiest power-pop around.

Plus, they dedicated a song to me and my friend at a show a couple years ago.

They released their best work once nobody was paying any attention to them anymore. Love this band and looking forward to the album. They put on a great show here in Tallahassee a few years ago and the club was PACKED.

Is true. Weird Al is directing this video. Also they will be at SXSW:

3/13 at Cedar Door's Outdoor Stage (201 Brazos St. Austin, TX @11:40 PM).

w/ Bowling for Soup, unfortunately.

What is the point of only having a few strings on their guitars in that picture.

As we pass saturation point for press coverage of Montreal, Portland, Brooklyn and et cetera, it seems Lawrence, Kansas is poised for its coming turn in the music media trend piece carousel. At least from what we're hearing; this marks...

Quit Your Day Job: Ungdomskulen

The Bergen trio Ungdomskulen play proggy post punk, mixing chops and hooks with a sense of humor. But they don't sound like Primus. When I was in Norway a couple years ago, "Ungdomskulen" seemed to be on everybody's lips (or...

Premature Evaluation: Beck - Modern Guilt

It's been some time since we learned Modern Guilt, Beck Hansen's eighth album, would be some sort of psych rock minimalist '60s trip with Danger Mouse. Since then, we've gotten a look at the old-school jazz/Blue Note-style cover art and...

Damien Jurado - "Murderer" (Low Cover)
