New Ryan Adams - "Like Yesterday"
Sandwiched in the middle of an advertisement for the forthcoming, vinyl-only, totally-fake album Magick, Ryan serenades his webcam like a proper YouTroubadour with the exceedingly pretty "Like Yesterday," honing in on a Neil Young-y, vintage acoustic vibe befitting the intro and outro's retro feel. Also fascinating to observe how incredible a user-generated clip can sound when the performer has not just emotion but, ya know, actual talent. Someone should start a Funny Or Die for singer-songwriters. What should we call it? Oh here's one: Don't Suck Or Cover "Umbrella" Or Die dot com.

On of the most beautiful Ryan Adams tracks I've heard in years. Seriously, why couldn't Easy Tiger, 29 or Jacksonville have been a quarter as good as this? He is so frustrating. Just when I was ready to write him off he records something like this. Here's hoping he releases it. What beautifully vivid lyrics.
