Worst Album Of 2008 Alert

Punk Goes Crunk? Yes it's only February, but it'll take much shittiness to out suck a compilation that includes New Found Glory covering "Tennessee," Say Anything tackling ODB, and various other semi-popular emo crews putting their whines behind Lil' John, Snoop, 2Pac, B.I.G., OutKast, Akon, pre-steroided Dr. Dre, etc. As you should be able tell by the photo to the right, the project's wrongheaded on a number of levels. For starters: Do you guys know what crunk means? Anyhow, can't believe nobody did "The Whisper Song." Oh right, it's already been done. Flawlessly.

I was just looking at the myspace page. Some dipshits from Ohio went and named their band "The Devil Wears Prada". LOL.

That is a christian band, and the name is more metaphoric than the book makes it sound, and they came before the movie.

the bands on the album are harder working than some gay ass wanna be emo band on mt-fucking-v

Christ, I thought New Found Glory-Hole's cover of "Kiss Me" was vomit-inducingly bad.... Shouldn't these fucktards have successfully committed suicide by now?

these kids don't even know what punk means - how are they going to figure crunk out?

And: The Devil Wears Prada is probably the worst bandname ever. EVER.

The Devil Wears Prada plays alot where I live, and the first time I saw a flyer with their name on it, I thought, "Surely no one would name their band after a novel that became a movie based on the fashion world, right?" Wrong.

Worst

Band

Name

Ever.

If you're gonna name an album "Punk Goes Crunk," at least grab a couple punk bands for the album.

Remember when Dynamite Hack covered "Boyz In The Hood?" I never thought we'd have to endure an entire album of that.

Unfortunately, all of the artists they're covering that would actually be offended by this are dead. The rest of those whores won't give a shit. Expect "Punk Goes Crunk Vol. 2" just in time for Christmas.

it's bad enough that white kids (myself included) drive around in our toyota sedans blasting B.I.G. and DOOM, but at least we keep our acoustic hip hop covers locked in our respective dingy basements. This album is a mistake on so many levels, leave hip hop to the rappers and ben folds.

The fact that a band named itself fucking the devil wears Prada just proves that popular music is going to hell!

Obviously most of these songs have nothing to do with crunk. Whoever come up with this title was probably aware of that and just couldn't resist the rhyme. It's really not that big of a deal.

Hey edgar allen bro, how come Ben Folds gets your permission to cover hip hop songs but other white nerds don't?

Obviously this record is silly, but what's even more silly is this website acting as if it's any better and 'above it'. You pump out Arcade Fire and Vampire Weekend to the masses. That crap is basically New Found Glory but instead made for 20-something yuppies.

Set Your Goals, Forever The Sickest Kids, The Devil Wears Prada... wow, those are really horrible band names, from bands making horrible music.

Wasn't Say Anything the band whose video won instead of "D.A.N.C.E." in the MTVu Woodie Awards? Yeah, fuck that band as well.

HAHAHAHAHAHA.
since when is Umbrella crunk?
we musta move to a parallel universe here or something.
this reminds me of those lame brohoes at my school blasting some type of hip hop looking absolutely lame while they think they look amazing and chick-appealing.
an album shouldnt remind me of that.

They haven't even changed these songs into emo songs? What's the point? For geeky white boys to sound hard karoaking to hip hop tunes?

Sounds fucking awful.

This whole album is for fun.
The Nmae just goes with their previos concept of "punk goes.." ; like "Punk Goes Acoustic" or "Punk Goes Metal"

The Bands on this a;bume are working harder than any autofamous new metal band you hear on the radio, and their names mean what they believe in.

so go ahead and fucking hate, and try to make yourself better by putting down an album. but the bands on here no matter how "whiney" sounding or how "screamy" they are, they have a purpose, record deals, and fun.

what do you have?..

alright guys. listen up. don't take yourselves so seriously. lighten up. yeah some of the stuff on punk goes crunk is downright terrible. some of the bands left the songs super poppy and didnt change the songs at all. but other bands did fantastic covers. not because it was musicaly good. but just because they are poking fun at themselves. this wasnt meant to be taken seriously. its a joke. it is fun. lighten up.
