Naturalistic rhythms and sounds. Unexpectedly great.

I liked this a lot. It's good to see a cover not just a carbon copy of the original and the Wrens really give this a new angle. Lovely version.

In general I like covers that have a very different approach to the original song. This is very similar to R.E.M.s version. However it deserves an audience. The singer has a beautiful voice. It is so well done. Please take the time to listen.

Ouch this is painfully bad. Its as of the band were covering a song in a foreign language and had no idea what the song was about. I'm not a musician and I don't understand the correct terminology to describe why this sucks so bad - but the presentation was poorly related to the lyrics and the emotional content of the song

WOW - I had to pull over to the side of the road to listen when this came on the radio at 99X Atlanta GA USA. I'm a R.E.M. fan but this cover affected me much more strongly than the original. I think its because the R.E.M. version is musically superior that the strength of the lyrics can easily be overlooked. You know, you can just kind of hum along shucking and jiving. This version is so spare that the beauty and compelling nostalgia of the poetry is impossible to avoid

Wow - I've just started to listen. THANKS for the effort to make this available, and post separate tracks. Much appreciated! Quite a discovery.

This "Tribute" cover album is truly poor, don't fix what ain't broken.
It is an awsome album, I know it and you obviously know it so lets leave it that way,I mean come on I know Andy Kaufman played them but Man on the moon with bongos or whatever the s**t that was. Please in the future don't bother.

Frankly I was shocked to see that it was The Meat Puppets who did this cover. It's fucking awful. It sounds like some untalented kids recording onto a ghetto blaster. I don't think the premise of a "Tribute" is to take the piss or make fun of the artist you are doing a tribute to.

a new album this week in the US...........Little Amber Bottles. and now a new single. Goober and Mrs. Miller are a truly amazing talent. Not only are they one of detroit's greatest bands, they are one of the greatest bands around. If you liked this song, please check out their 2 albums, "if we can't trust the doctors" and "little amber bottles"
you'll fall in love.

So, there are 22 tracks on the download page and the songs posted there are tagged (ID3) 1-12 and 14-23. Is there a track 13 or are you guys just superstitious?

Goober and Co. never sounded more sincere. Keep it up guys (and dolls).

So different, so good. I love the remake. I'm kinda dizzy now, though. Must be the vertigo.

I think "Throw your hand" is a metaphor for life as a card game... "Don't give up," in other words.

One thing that really bothers me about REM is that they fired Peter Holsapple (dBs) as second guitarist when he asked for a share of the writing credit for songs that he helped create. This was around (or just before) the "automatic" period in REM's recording career.

all fixed...we know all about the 44.1, but in this case, there was a different problem, and then the mistake was compounded, etc. etc. but the bottom line is it's all better. sorry, bodies & everybodies.
