Beck & Danger Mouse Create Modern Guilt, Bring Cat Power Along

From Black Keys to his own Gnarls B, Danger Mouse has been plenty busy. As previously suggested, his next high profile knob-turning job is Beck's 10th album Modern Guilt. RockDaily has the details: "It was the most intensive work I've...  CONTINUE READING BECK & DANGER MOUSE CREATE MODERN GUILT, BRING CAT POWER ALONG»

There's A Reason You Can't Make Sense Of Beck's Lyrics

As our favorite Hansen confesses to Rolling Stone: It's because there's no sense to be made. Via NME:The star admits that many songs ... featured ... lines the star recorded during initial recordings of the songs to fill in blanks,...  CONTINUE READING THERE'S A REASON YOU CAN'T MAKE SENSE OF BECK'S LYRICS»

Rare Beck Error Card MINT

From the PR folks working that terrific Odelay reissue we never got a chance to mention:

The first pressing of the recent Odelay Deluxe Reissue was found to have gone out with unproofed lyrics that were taken from a lyrics website as place holders for layout purposes. Beck apologizes for this unfortunate oversight and is making arrangements for the corrected lyrics to be available gratis via Beck.com. Subsequent pressings of the Odelay Deluxe will also include the corrected lyrics.
Internets are so unreliable. We've been singing the wrong words to "New Pollution" for a dozen years, though ... Why stop now?

PZ of Two Ton Sloth Mashes Grizzly Bear, Ghostface, Beck

Grizzly Bear's "Knife"'s certainly received more than its share of the mash love. It's gotta be the most smashed and covered jam of '07, right? It's '08, but let's throw one more onto the pile: Radiohead masher PZ of the...  CONTINUE READING PZ OF TWO TON SLOTH MASHES GRIZZLY BEAR, GHOSTFACE, BECK»

Jack White Fights A Bull, White Stripes Make B-Sides With Beck

Jack acted the gringo and Meg the one-eyed Mexican prostitute in the video for "Icky Thump" and continuing with that general vibe, he goes Hemmingway on us, playing a bullfighter in the new video for "Conquest." NBC's Chuck Is Trying Really Hard To Woo You And According To The Ratings, It's Not Working

Not watching Chuck? That's for the best, although the suits at NBC would be shocked and saddened to hear it, especially since they've decided their 40 Year Old Virgin-meets-The Bourne Ultimatum (but not as good as that sounds) comedy appears...  CONTINUE READING NBC'S CHUCK IS TRYING REALLY HARD TO WOO YOU AND ACCORDING TO THE RATINGS, IT'S NOT WORKING»

MTVu's Woodies Awards 2006

Beck @ Angel Orensanz Center, NYC 10/22/06

A puppet-less Mr. Hansen and band treated the Lower East Side's best cathedral-inspired-synagogue concert hall to twenty-four songs last night, over an hour-and-a-half full of humor, a little broken-hearted folk, and some light-hearted fun. Beck was quick to announce that...  CONTINUE READING BECK @ ANGEL ORENSANZ CENTER, NYC 10/22/06»
